Shanxi Police Vocational College is a vocational college for cultivating and training people's police in the political and legal system. It was founded in April 1964 and has gone through the names of "Shanxi Provincial Public Security Technical School", "Shanxi Provincial Public Security School", "Shanxi Provincial Labor Reform Work School", "Shanxi Provincial Labor Reform Police School", "Shanxi Second People's Police School" and other school names. On May 20, 2004, with the approval of the Shanxi Provincial People's Government, Shanxi Police Vocational College was established on the basis of Shanxi Second People's Police School. It is led by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and managed by the Shanxi Provincial Prison Administration. The college has 22 departments, including 9 party and government agencies, 8 teaching institutions, 3 teaching auxiliary institutions, and 2 mass organizations. There are 231 faculty members, 88 full-time teachers, and 1,889 students. Among the full-time teachers, 30 have the title of associate senior or above, and 33 have a master's degree or above. The college currently covers an area of 228.12 acres, with a total construction area of 37,770.13 square meters.
