Teacher education is internationally renowned. The Education University of Hong Kong is the only teacher education institution among the eight public universities in Hong Kong. It has been listed as a key undergraduate university for early admission by the Ministry of Education. In the 2023 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject, the Education University of Hong Kong ranked fourth in Asia and 21st in the world in the field of education, and its teaching and research strength has been recognized by international academic colleagues. Inheriting more than 160 years of teacher education experience, the school has cultivated generations of outstanding educators and social leaders, becoming the mainstay of promoting social development. The Education University has a graduate school and three colleges, namely the School of Education and Human Development, the School of Humanities, and the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. The Education University offers a series of doctoral, master's and undergraduate bachelor's degree programs, covering education majors and diverse disciplines such as humanities, social sciences, creative arts and culture. The teaching and research strength and academic achievements are internationally respected. Partners all over the world The Education University has established close relationships with more than 200 higher education institutions and institutions in more than 30 countries and regions around the world. Students of the Education University can participate in student exchange programs, summer exchange visits and internships during their studies. Good graduate prospects According to the results of the 2020 Hong Kong Education University Graduate Employment Survey, the average starting salary for graduates studying for the Bachelor of Education (Honors) is HK$31,300 (approximately RMB 27,049). More than 95% of graduates have been hired or choose to continue their studies, which shows that graduates of the Education University are well-equipped and have competitive advantages in terms of professional knowledge, classroom experience and holistic development. Rich scholarships welcome mainland students to study at the Education University. There are a number of admission scholarships to encourage outstanding mainland students to study. There is no need to apply separately. The maximum amount is HK$185,000 per year and can be renewed. Mainland students who are interested in applying for undergraduate courses in 2023 can check the latest admission information on the Global Affairs Office website (https://eduhk.hk/gao/sc/) or the admissions website (https://www.apply.eduhk.hk/ug/zh-hans/mainlandjee), or log in directly to the online system (https://www.eduhk.hk/acadprog/online/) to fill in the admission application. The deadline for registration for college entrance examination candidates is June 12, 2023. Applicants who are taking the National College Entrance Examination must be current college entrance examination candidates (including repeaters) from the 31 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government in the Mainland. There is no fixed quota allocation for each province or city. The Education University will consider the applicants' college entrance examination scores and interview performance (if applicable) and select the best candidates for admission. The Education University implements independent enrollment, which does not affect students' application for mainland universities. Students can also apply for other key mainland universities while applying for the University, and there is no conflict between the two. If a student is not admitted by the Education University, he/she will return to the mainland unified enrollment system, so he/she will still have the opportunity to be considered by other key universities in the first batch of undergraduate admissions.
