Suzhou Information Vocational and Technical College, located on the shore of the beautiful Taihu Lake and Suzhou Bay, is the only public higher vocational college in the Yangtze River Delta Ecological Green Integrated Development Demonstration Zone. One of the predecessors of the college, Jiangsu Wujiang Normal School, was founded in 1922, with a long history of running schools and profound cultural accumulation. The college's history of running schools has roughly gone through four main stages: First, the predecessor of the college, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications Wujiang Vocational College, was established in 2003; second, Suxin College was established in 2009, and Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications continued to manage it; third, in 2014, the college was transformed from a private to a public institution at the level of a section-level institution; fourth, in 2016, the college was upgraded to a full-level institution at the level of a director. The college currently has teaching institutions such as the School of Smart Finance and Economics (Department of Economics and Trade), the School of Modern Business (Department of Management Engineering), the School of Communications and Electronics (Department of Communications and Information Engineering), the School of Intelligent Manufacturing (Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering), the School of Artificial Intelligence (Department of Big Data and Internet), the Basic Courses Department (Department of Physical Education), the School of Marxism, and the School of Continuing Education. There are more than 6,700 full-time students and 314 faculty members, including 9 senior professional titles and 73 associate senior professional titles. There are 24 majors, and the computer network technology major group has been selected into the high-level professional group construction project of higher vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province.
