Guizhou Nursing Vocational and Technical College was formerly the Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital Nursing School founded in 1958. It was established in 2017 with the approval of the Guizhou Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education. It is under the jurisdiction of the Guizhou Provincial Health Commission. The college is the chairman unit of the Guizhou Nursing Society, the director unit of the Provincial Higher Education Society, the member unit of the Provincial Education International Exchange Association, the member unit of the Provincial Higher Education Security Research Association, the member unit of the Provincial Vocational Education Society, the member unit of the Provincial Medical Association, the provincial elderly care service talent training base, the initiator of the China-ASEAN Nursing High-quality Development Alliance, the national outdoor sports rescue scientific research training base cooperation unit, the "Belt and Road" National College and Enterprise Exchange Association Chinese Council Standing Director Unit, "National Smart Medical Industry Industry-Education Integration Community" Standing Director Unit, the second batch of national school emergency education pilot schools, the Ministry of Education's third batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units, the Ministry of Education's third batch of "1+X Early Childhood Care" pilot units, the Central Audio-visual Education Museum's second batch of vocational college digital campus construction experimental schools, the province's first batch of vocational skill level certification and evaluation institutions, and the affiliated hospital is the Guizhou Provincial Third People's Hospital. The college currently has two campuses, Jinhai and Huaxi, with a total area of 779.3 acres. The college currently has 640 faculty members, including 467 full-time teachers. There are about 8,000 full-time students. The college currently offers 14 majors, including nursing, midwifery, rehabilitation therapy technology, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation technology, pharmacy, drug management and management, traditional Chinese medicine, health management, smart health care services and management, infant care services and management, optometry technology, medical cosmetology technology, visual training and rehabilitation, sports health care and rehabilitation. Among them, the nursing major has also expanded to 6 directions, including stomatology, geriatrics, critical care, ophthalmology, traditional Chinese medicine, and hospital infection. The college has built a fully functional on-campus practical teaching base, with a nationally advanced and provincially first-class nursing training center and basic medical experimental training center; there are 95 internship bases inside and outside the province. The college always bears in mind the fundamental task of cultivating people with morality and continues to deepen its connotation-based development. In recent years, the college has won the 4th National Huang Yanpei Excellent School Award, the National National Defense Education Featured School, the National Model Workers' Home of the Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports System, the Provincial Civilized Campus, the Provincial Advanced Unit for Spiritual Civilization Construction, the Provincial Education System Work Performance "Outstanding Collective" title, and the 2023 Guizhou Maternal and Child Health Vocational Skills Competition Finals Special Contribution Award; hosted the Vocational College Nursing Skills Competition organized by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education for 13 consecutive years, co-organized the Provincial Nursing Job Skills Competition organized by the Guizhou Provincial Health Commission and the Guizhou Provincial Federation of Trade Unions for 10 consecutive years, and held the China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week for 2 consecutive years, and took the lead in establishing the China-ASEAN Nursing High-Quality Development Alliance. Teachers of our college have successively won the titles of "National Model Teacher", "National May 1st Women's Model", "National Model of Teaching and Educating", "National May 1st Labor Medal", etc. Students have won the first prize in the higher vocational group and secondary vocational group of the Guizhou Vocational College Nursing Skills Competition for many times, and won the third prize in the National Vocational College Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Group) for many times.
