The school was founded in 1996 and was approved by the Henan Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education to be established as "Zhengzhou Electric Power Vocational and Technical College" in 2006. The school is located at the intersection of the Central Plains Economic Zone, the Zhengzhou Urban Core Zone, and the Zhengdong New District. It is located on the south bank of the Jialu River, adjacent to the Zhengzhou Green Expo Park and Fantawild Amusement Park. It has convenient transportation and beautiful environment. It is a quaint and ecological higher vocational college. The school covers an area of more than 1,500 acres and currently has two campuses, the Shangdu Road Campus in Zhengzhou and the "Industry-City Integration Demonstration Zone" Campus in Kaifeng. The school has complete school facilities and excellent school conditions. In the construction of "double high" higher vocational education, it will become a "Henan Province Power Supply and Use Technology High-level Professional Group" construction university in 2020. Among them, the power, mechanical and electrical, and new energy professional groups are the main professional groups. In order to connect with the eight major professional clusters, eight experimental training centers have been built on campus, with a total of 169 professional experimental training rooms.
