Shangluo Vocational and Technical College was founded in 2005. It is a comprehensive full-time public higher vocational college approved by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, registered by the Ministry of Education of China, and co-built and co-managed by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and the Shangluo Municipal People's Government. The college is located in Shangluo City, the "China Climate Health Care Capital" where Qin and Chu cultures meet and enjoys the reputation of "Shangluo is the most beautiful in Qinling Mountains". The college has been awarded the provincial "Civilized Campus", the provincial "Safe Campus", the pilot project school of the Ministry of Education's "Innovation and Development Action Plan for Higher Vocational Education", and the high-level professional group construction unit of Shaanxi Higher Vocational Schools. The college's current campus covers an area of 608 acres, with fixed assets of 670 million yuan and a construction area of 250,000 square meters; there are 288 experimental training halls and bases inside and outside the school, and more than 500 faculty and staff. The college has secondary teaching units such as the Medical College, the School of Nursing, the Normal College, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Public Course Teaching Department, the Ideological and Political Department (Marxist College) and the Sports Department, as well as institutions such as the Shangluo Vocational Education Training Center, the Municipal Vocational Education Management Office, the Experimental Middle School, the Experimental Kindergarten, and the Driver Training School. The college currently offers 30 three-year higher vocational majors, 9 five-year higher vocational majors and 11 "three-two" five-year higher vocational majors, forming a distinctive professional feature of medical and education majors, and a fast-developing professional feature of engineering majors such as automobiles, electromechanical, construction, general aviation, and computers. Among them, the clinical medicine major and the automobile inspection and maintenance production training base are the backbone majors and school-enterprise cooperation pilot projects of the Ministry of Education's "Action Plan for the Innovation and Development of Higher Vocational Education"; clinical medicine, nursing, and preschool education majors are provincial "first-class majors" cultivation projects and provincial professional comprehensive reform pilot projects; in 2022, the two professional groups of clinical medicine and nursing (health care) were rated as provincial high-level professional group construction projects by the Provincial Department of Education. Up to now, the college has 13,700 students enrolled, and the students come from 24 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across the country, and the average employment rate of graduates is over 90%. In July 2022, the Shangluo Municipal Government determined that the national high-skilled and health care high-skilled talent training base (referred to as the "double high base") led by the college was a national demonstration base approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. It adheres to the construction positioning of being based in Shangluo, serving Shaanxi, and radiating the whole country, and actively explores a systematic, replicable and popularizable high-skilled talent training model. It has now entered the comprehensive construction stage. The college actively explores the integration of production and education, and the diversified school-enterprise cooperation pattern, and promotes the in-depth participation of enterprises in collaborative education. It has established an "order-based" training school-enterprise cooperation relationship with many listed companies and key industry enterprises. In recent years, the college has carried out in-depth cooperation in running schools with China Electronics Group, Chongqing Deket, Chengdu Yunhua, Shaanxi Huashan Group, Xiangju Pharmaceutical, Longqiao Group, etc., and explored the establishment of mixed-ownership secondary colleges such as Digital Economy Industry College, Deket Internet College, General Aviation College, and Health Industry College; co-established the "China-Yang Oriented Training Class for Elderly Care and Nursing" with the Japan Care Support Association, reached a cooperation and exchange intention with Daegu University in South Korea on medical health care majors, and established talent training bases with Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), etc., and continuously expanded the types of college majors, laying a solid foundation for students' future career development. The Shangluo Vocational Education Training Center established by the municipal government in the college has 7 provincial training bases and 17 municipal training bases. The Municipal Vocational Education Center adheres to the concept of "training quality first, social benefits first", relying on the college's strong disciplinary advantages and faculty strength, and has formed a training innovation system of "fine management, on-demand courses, excellent faculty, and combination of theory and practice", with more than 20,000 training sessions per year. At the end of 2022, the municipal government established the Shangluo Vocational Education Management Office in our college, actively promoted the construction of the "1+8" new vocational education system and the "1+10+N" high-skilled talent training system, and made every effort to integrate the city's vocational education resources, and train more technical and skilled talents that meet social needs for the "health care capital". The college adheres to the direction of running schools with Chinese characteristics, implements the fundamental task of cultivating people with morality, adheres to the school motto of "cultivating morality, inspiring, learning, and doing good deeds", and takes the university spirit of "cognition, skills, craftsmanship, and pragmatism" as the banner of campus culture construction, and strives to create the "gardener spirit" of the Normal College, the "Nightingale spirit" of the Nursing College, the "Bethune spirit" of the Medical College, and the "craftsman spirit" of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
