Shandong Shengli Vocational College is a public full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Shandong Provincial People's Government, founded by Shengli Oilfield of Sinopec Group, continued by Dongying Municipal People's Government, and registered by the Ministry of Education of China. Its predecessor was Shengli Petroleum School and Shengli Oilfield Health School, both of which were national key secondary vocational schools established in 1973. The college has been rated as excellent in all previous Shandong provincial assessments, and has successively won the titles of "National Excellent Demonstration Site for Worker Education and Training", "National Excellent Adult Continuing Education College", "Top 100 Advanced Education Units of Chinese Enterprises", "National Advanced Unit for Vocational Guidance and Innovation Education", "Shandong Enterprise Internship and Training Base", "Shandong Vocational Education and Entrepreneurship Education Advanced School", "Dongying Entrepreneurship and Employment Training Base", "Shengli Oilfield Education and Training Advanced Unit", "Shengli Oilfield Skilled Talent Development Advanced Unit" and many other honorary titles. The college is located in Dongying City, Shandong Province, a national civilized city, one of the top 100 cities in China, a national ecological garden city, and an international wetland city. The college covers an area of 433,200 square meters; the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 90.5757 million yuan. It has 43 professional experimental training rooms, and has various training equipment such as ZJ50DB drilling rigs, ZJ40L drilling rigs, downhole operation well rigs, beam pumping units, PZ12V190B diesel engines, and more than 100 simulation systems such as drilling engineering, oil production engineering, oil and gas gathering and transportation, and pressure operation. It has built national security emergency response drill training bases, Sinopec oil and gas production information training bases, Shengli Oilfield Skilled Talent Training Base, Shengli Oilfield Skilled Talent Innovation Incubation Base, Shandong Province Emergency Rescue Training Base and other training bases. The school's skill training center is a "national experimental teaching demonstration center construction unit" confirmed by the Ministry of Education. The college currently has 251 full-time teachers, including 175 with associate senior titles or above; 140 full-time teachers have master's degrees or above; 203 professional teachers, including 115 "dual-qualified" teachers. The college has also hired more than 190 enterprise experts and skill masters as part-time teachers, forming a high-level, high-quality, and high-level teaching staff with full-time teachers as the backbone and part-time teachers as the supplement. In recent years, the college has won 137 national student skill competition awards and 155 provincial student skill competition awards. The college has 7 secondary colleges including the School of Petroleum Engineering, the School of Hotel Management, the School of Nursing, the School of Smart Industry, the School of Talent Development and Continuing Education, the School of Applied Technology, and the Aierchuang Dental College, with a total of 21 higher vocational majors. The college has successively cooperated with more than 50 enterprises, including Sinopec Shengli Oilfield, Shandong Deshi Group, Shandong Blue Ocean Co., Ltd., Wuhan Meistanford Information Technology Co., Ltd., Shuyu Pingmin Pharmacy Chain Co., Ltd., Beijing Jingdong Century Trading Co., Ltd., Guangzhou CNC Equipment Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Yangnong Chemical Group Co., Ltd., Shuifa Group Co., Ltd., Shandong Guoci Functional Materials Co., Ltd., and Dongying Tongtai Stomatological Hospital Co., Ltd., to carry out school-enterprise cooperation in professional co-construction, resource sharing, order training, and modern apprenticeship pilot projects, and established off-campus internship bases to better meet the students' theoretical and practical teaching requirements. In 2019, in order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the "National Vocational Education Reform Implementation Plan" document, promote the formation of a vocational education school-running pattern with government overall management, corporate social participation, and distinctive professional characteristics, and realize the deep integration of production and education and close cooperation between schools and enterprises, the Dongying Municipal People's Government and Shandong Blue Ocean Group, in line with the principle of "jointly organizing, jointly managing, and jointly building", opened a new situation of deep integration between schools and enterprises, and started the construction of a first-class information-based new campus, which further stimulated the vitality of the college and promoted the high-quality development of the college. Since its establishment, the college has focused on student growth and the acquisition of good employability. Relying on enterprise clusters, Sinopec and Shandong Province's yellow-blue strategy for regional economic development, it has built a platform for graduates' employment and has trained more than 80,000 professional talents of various types. A large number of young talents have emerged, including the top ten outstanding young people in the country, winners of the Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Award, winners of the National Youth "May Fourth" Medal, experts enjoying special government subsidies, and Qilu Chief Technicians.
