Tangshan Vocational College of Science and Technology is a higher vocational college invested and established by Tangshan Iron and Steel Company of Hebei Iron and Steel Group with a history of more than 70 years. The college was born because of steel and prospered because of steel. Its predecessor was Tangshan Iron and Steel Workers University founded in 1949. After more than 70 years of hard work and struggle, the school has gone through decades of trials and tribulations and has never stopped singing. In April 2003, it was approved by the People's Government of Hebei Province and registered by the Ministry of Education as a provincial full-time general higher vocational school. The college's talent training is based on "steel" as the standard, and the characteristics of steel are integrated throughout its development. After more than 70 years of development and growth, the college has now become a "Tangshan High-skilled Talent Training Base", "Machinery Industry Capacity Appraisal Station", "National Level 3 Safety Production Training Qualification Institution", a vocational skills appraisal center recognized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, a pilot college for the modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education and the Provincial Department of Education, a designated training unit for the pilot of the new apprenticeship system of enterprises, and a pilot college for the "1+X Certificate" system.
