Gansu Health Vocational College is a public full-time general college approved by the Gansu Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. The school is affiliated to the Gansu Provincial Department of Education. Its predecessor was the Gansu Provincial Health School founded in 1956. The school is the first batch of national nursing professional skill-based scarce talent demonstration training bases, the first batch of national vocational college health service demonstration professional points, the National Health Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee and the Nursing Subcommittee Chairman Unit, the Chinese Medical Association National Health Vocational Education Research Association Executive Vice Director and Secretary-General Unit, China Vocational Education Association Teaching Committee Standing Director Unit, National Traditional Chinese Medicine Vocational and Technical Education Society Vice Chairman Unit, National Traditional Chinese Medicine Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee Vice Chairman Unit, Gansu Provincial Health Vocational Education Scientific Research Office Director Unit, Gansu Provincial Medical Association Medical Education Professional Committee Chairman Unit, Gansu Provincial Health Vocational Education Group Secretary-General Unit. The school currently covers an area of 1,050 acres, with complete supporting facilities for teaching, living, and sports. The experimental training room covers an area of 100,000 square meters, with advanced equipment and smart teaching systems to meet the teaching of various majors. The total number of faculty and staff is 519, including 352 full-time teachers, including 111 associate professors and above, 70 lecturers, and 116 masters and above. The school has 6 secondary colleges, including the School of Clinical Nursing, the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the School of Medical Technology, the School of Basic Medicine, the School of Public Basics, and the School of Marxism. There are more than 11,500 full-time students, and the majors offered include clinical medicine, stomatology, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and massage, nursing, midwifery, stomatology technology, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine, rehabilitation therapy technology, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation therapy technology, and 3 professional directions, including elderly care, oral care, and traditional Chinese medicine nursing, forming a relatively complete group of medical and health higher vocational education majors. Among them, the two majors of Nursing and Stomatology Technology were identified by the Ministry of Education as key professional construction projects of the "Action Plan for the Innovation and Development of Higher Vocational Education (2015-2018)" project; Nursing, Stomatology Technology, Pharmacy, Midwifery and other four majors were identified by the Provincial Department of Education as key majors of higher vocational education in Gansu Province. The school cooperates with Peking University, Lanzhou University, and Gansu University of Chinese Medicine to run undergraduate adult education in nursing, medical imaging, medical testing, and stomatology, forming a diversified school-running model with the coexistence of junior college and undergraduate, general education and adult education. The school provides continuing education and telemedicine education services for health technicians in primary medical and health institutions in Gansu Province. It is an important training base for medical and health technical personnel, medical science research base, medical information exchange base, and continuing medical education base for health technicians in the province.
