Dehong Vocational College is a comprehensive full-time public higher vocational college rooted in the frontier, focusing on medical and engineering professional education. It is one of the 12 "national gate universities" in the province, a national national defense education characteristic school, a national popular science education base, and a member of the "Lancang-Mekong Vocational Education Alliance". There are 6 state-controlled majors in clinical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, stomatology, preschool education, acupuncture and massage, and Dai medicine. The nursing major is an "A-level five-star major" in Yunnan Province. The three majors of clinical medicine, medical imaging technology and nursing are "backbone majors" recognized by the Action Plan for the Innovation and Development of Higher Vocational Education. The traditional Chinese medicine major group has entered the Yunnan Province High-level Professional Group Construction Plan. Since its establishment, the school has been based on the fertile soil of the border and has cultivated patriotic feelings. It has trained more than 60,000 skilled talents for ethnic minority areas in the border areas, and more than 500 medical personnel and skilled talents for neighboring Myanmar.
