The school was founded in 1945 and is a public full-time general college. The school is an excellent school for the evaluation of the talent training level of higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education, a model higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province, and a construction unit of a high-level higher vocational school with Chinese characteristics in Jiangsu Province. Under the care of the provincial and municipal party committees and governments, the school takes moral education as its foundation and serving the society as its purpose, forging ahead and innovating. Over the past 70 years, it has achieved outstanding achievements in running schools and has trained more than 60,000 talents of various types. Among them are social elites represented by Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Xiang Yuchu, former Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province Ling Qihong, and former Vice President of Peking University Zhou Erliu. More of them have become backbones of production technology, business management and models of self-employment, and have made outstanding contributions to the national and local economic and social development. The school is located in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, a national historical and cultural city known as the economic center of the northern wing of the Yangtze River Delta. It is located by the river and the sea, within the 1-hour economic circle of Shanghai, and has outstanding location advantages. The campus is located in the main urban area of Nantong City, with convenient transportation, beautiful environment, prosperous business and complete supporting facilities. The total campus area is more than 600 acres, with more than 12,000 students and more than 600 faculty and staff. The school has five secondary colleges, including the School of Environmental and Biological Engineering, the School of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, the School of Mechanical and Electrical and Transportation Engineering, the School of Information and Intelligent Engineering, and the School of Business Administration, as well as teaching institutions such as the School of Marxism (Department of Quality Education), the School of Continuing Education, the School of International Education, and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The school adapts to the needs of regional economic development and continuously optimizes its professional settings, forming six major professional clusters including modern agriculture, health and environmental protection, intelligent equipment, electronic information, garden municipal administration, and modern business. There are 39 majors, including 2 national key construction majors, 1 provincial brand major, 4 provincial high-level backbone majors, 2 modern apprenticeship pilot majors, and 29 1+X certificate system pilots. There are more than 140 experimental training rooms, including 2 national training bases, 1 "Star Creation World", 5 production-education integration bases, engineering centers, and innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration bases. It presided over the construction of a national-level vocational education professional teaching resource library and more than 20 provincial online open courses. Adhering to the school motto of "Houde and Craftsmanship", the school adheres to the integration of production and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and strives to cultivate technical and skilled talents and future great craftsmen. The school took the lead in establishing the Jiangsu Environmental Protection Industry Vocational Education Alliance, the Nantong Horticulture Industry School-Enterprise Cooperation Demonstration Council, the Nantong Cross-border E-commerce Vocational Teaching Alliance, the Nantong Agricultural and Sideline Products Processing Technology Association, the Nantong Nutrition Society, etc. In-depth cooperation with more than 200 companies such as Nantong Urban Agricultural Park, Zhongyang Group, Mitsubishi Elevator, and Haier Intelligent Technology Company to cultivate talents, and the school and enterprises jointly built the "Smart Garden Industry College", "Haier Intelligent College", and "E-commerce College" to form a "talent co-education, process co-management, results sharing, and responsibility sharing" cooperation mechanism. The microbiology course teaching team won the first prize in the National Vocational College Teaching Ability Competition, and the Enriching People and Strengthening Agriculture Service Team and the Rural Revitalization Practice Team won the ninth and twelfth "Moving Nantong Education Group" honorary titles respectively. The school has carried out in-depth multi-disciplinary and multi-professional application research, and successfully built a number of government-banking-enterprise-school cooperation and industry-university-research-application integration technology service platforms. The school has carried out strategic cooperation between the government and the Nantong Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and took the lead in establishing the "Nantong Rural Revitalization Strategy Research Center" to organize and carry out Nantong agricultural and rural talent training and rural revitalization special research. There are 2 provincial engineering research centers, 7 municipal key laboratories and service platforms. The scientific research results have won the second prize of environmental science and technology of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the second prize of agricultural technology promotion of Jiangsu Province, the second prize of China's industry-university-research cooperation innovation results, the first prize of the provincial social science application quality project award, the first prize of Nantong Science and Technology Progress, the first prize of Nantong Agricultural Technology Promotion, the first prize of the municipal philosophy and society outstanding achievement award and other municipal science and technology awards. We carry out various types of training for agricultural technicians, village accountants, new professional farmers, corporate environmental protection directors, sewage treatment workers, etc., with an average annual training of about 40,000 people of all kinds. Relying on platforms such as the "Three New Agricultural Projects" and the "County-Linked Strong Agriculture and Enriching People Project", we have demonstrated and promoted new varieties and technologies in Rugao, Hai'an and other places, driving farmers' income and winning the Ministry of Agriculture's Agricultural, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Harvest Award. The school has been commended as "the advanced collective of teaching and scientific research in ordinary colleges and universities in the province", "the advanced unit of the provincial county-linked strong agriculture and enriching people project", and "the advanced collective of cultivating new professional farmers in Jiangsu Province", and has won the "Nantong Vocational Education Service Local Economy Contribution Award" for many consecutive years.
