Guangxi Engineering Vocational College was founded in 2006 and officially enrolled students in 2007. It is a full-time general college with distinctive characteristics, mainly in science and engineering, approved by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and registered by the Ministry of Education. It enrolls students nationwide. The school currently covers an area of nearly 1,800 acres, with a total building area of 350,000 square meters. It has 9 secondary colleges, including the School of Marxism, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Automotive and Electromechanical Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Art and Design, the School of Railway and Aviation, the National University of Defense Technology, the School of Education, and the School of Continuing Education and Training. It has established 7 on-campus experimental training centers such as the Aluminum Research Institute and the Building Materials Testing Training Center, as well as 3 professional teaching factories in materials, machinery, and architecture. It has built 1 college student innovation and entrepreneurship center and 174 off-campus practical teaching bases. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 158.752 million yuan, and the total number of books is 2.5428 million. There are 39 majors for enrollment, including construction project management and high-speed railway passenger service. Among them, five majors, including engineering cost, construction engineering technology, architectural interior design, automotive technical service and marketing, and urban rail transit engineering technology, are key majors for Guangxi colleges and universities. The school has more than 20,000 full-time students and more than 1,000 faculty and staff. In recent years, the school won one second prize for national teaching achievements in vocational education in 2018 and one first prize for teaching achievements in Guangxi vocational education at the autonomous region level; students participated in various national and regional competitions and won more than 700 awards; more than 100 local characteristic achievements in scientific and technological services such as patents and consulting reports were obtained.
