Anhui Forestry Vocational and Technical College is a provincial public full-time general college of higher learning, affiliated to the Anhui Provincial Forestry Bureau. It is the only higher vocational and technical college in our province that focuses on cultivating highly skilled talents for ecological civilization construction and develops in a coordinated manner across multiple disciplines. The college was founded in 1952. In June 2004, it was independently upgraded to "Anhui Forestry Vocational and Technical College" with the approval of the Anhui Provincial People's Government. The college is currently located in Dashu Mountain Scenic Area, Hefei City, with mountains and lakes, beautiful environment and convenient transportation. It is a garden-style unit and a provincial civilized unit in Anhui Province, and is an ideal place for learning. The college currently has five teaching departments: the Department of Resources and Environment, the Department of Information and Art, the Department of Economics and Management, the Department of Ideological and Political Teaching, and the School of Continuing Education, covering 10 disciplines and 37 majors, including agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, resources, environment and safety, civil engineering, equipment manufacturing, electronics and information, medicine and health, finance and trade, culture and art, tourism, public management and services, etc., including: 2 majors supported by the central government and 3 provincial specialty majors. The college currently has 331 faculty members, including 304 full-time teachers, 8 doctors, 125 masters; 6 professors, 29 associate professors, more than 100 experts and skilled craftsmen, and a stable teaching staff. The college adheres to characteristic development, gathers strength, and actively builds diversified talent training models such as "industry-education integration, learning-job integration" and "secondary and higher vocational connection". It has signed a "3+2" joint training agreement with 10 provincial demonstration secondary vocational schools in the province, and has carried out industry-education integration cooperation with well-known companies such as iFlytek Co., Ltd., Hefei Zhongke Frontier Technology Co., Ltd., Hefei Xiqin Culture Media Co., Ltd., and Anhui Tianlitai Technology Co., Ltd., and has built 8 market-scarce majors. The college has 50 on-campus training bases and 34 off-campus training bases, including: 2 national vocational education training bases supported by the central government, and 2 provincial experimental training demonstration centers. In recent years, students have won more than 100 national, provincial and ministerial competition awards, and the employment rate of graduates has remained stable at more than 95%. The number of students entering undergraduate studies through junior college has increased year by year. The college is a pilot institution for the "1+X" certificate of the Ministry of Education, a test site for the National English Level 4 and 6, computer proficiency and English application ability designated by the Provincial Department of Education, a vocational skill appraisal station for unique occupations in the forestry industry in Anhui Province designated by the State Forestry Administration and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and a provincial vocational skill level certification center for six occupations, including landscape and greening workers, flower arranging florists, forest nursery workers, forestry pest control workers, forest breeders, and forest rangers, designated by the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security.
