Yulin Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public general higher vocational college sponsored by the Yulin Municipal People's Government and managed by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education. In February 2012, it was officially established after approval by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and filing with the Ministry of Education. The college consists of six campuses: the main campus, the Agricultural College, the Forestry College, the Medical College, the Humanities and Social Sciences College, and the Art College. The main campus is located in the Yulin National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, with a total area of more than 3,000 acres and a construction area of 430,000 square meters. The college has convenient transportation, a pleasant environment, and beautiful scenery. It is an ideal place for teaching and educating people. The campus buildings are scientifically reasonable and fully functional. Public teaching buildings, professional teaching buildings, training buildings, library information buildings, adult education buildings, college student activity centers, and logistics service centers stand in different areas of the campus, which can well meet the needs of teaching and life. The building areas of the Library and Information Building and the Adult Education Building are both the largest in the province. The modern stadium is a national second-class stadium recognized by the National Athletics Federation. The beautiful artificial lake and handsome rockery are a "paradise" for teachers and students to cultivate their moral character and cultivate their sentiments, providing a good learning and living environment for teachers and students. The college actively introduces doctoral and expert talents, and employs senior engineers and senior technicians from enterprises as training instructors to form an excellent teaching staff. The college currently has 861 faculty members and more than 531 full-time teachers, of which more than 50% are doctors and masters, more than 20% are professors and associate professors, and more than 15% are senior engineers and senior technicians. It has gradually established 35 majors in 12 categories covering professional and technical fields such as chemical engineering, electromechanical engineering, mining engineering, economic management, construction engineering, teacher education, agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry. The college enrolls students from 14 provinces and regions including Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Qingchuan and Henan, and currently has more than 12,000 full-time students. It now offers 31 majors, including applied chemical technology, chemical equipment technology, industrial analysis technology, chemical automation technology, coal deep processing and utilization, thermal power plant, mechatronics technology, electrical automation technology, coal mining technology, engineering measurement technology, engineering cost, construction engineering technology, big data and accounting, e-commerce, modern logistics management, preschool education, primary education, nursing, forestry technology, gardening technology, modern agricultural technology, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine. The college makes full use of the favorable conditions of the construction of the national energy and chemical base and the agglomeration of the energy and chemical industry, closely connects with local state-owned large and medium-sized enterprises, and cooperates deeply with many enterprises such as Shenhua Shendong Coal Group, Huadian Yulin Company, Yutianhua, and Huaao Salt Field Company to establish and expand off-campus training bases, creating good conditions for teachers' practical training, students' internships, order training, and enterprise employee training, so as to achieve technical communication, resource sharing, and mutual benefit between schools and enterprises, and lay a good foundation for graduates to find matching, stable, and high-paying jobs. In 2022, our college will provide an average of 2.6 jobs for each graduate, with an employment rate of 97%.
