Fuzhou Preschool Teachers College is a public normal school approved by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government in 2017 and registered by the Ministry of Education. It recruits students from all over the country to train kindergarten and primary school teachers at the junior college level. It offers 11 majors, including preschool education, primary education, primary Chinese education, art education, primary science education, primary English education, mathematics education, modern educational technology, computer application technology, and music education. In the fall semester of 2022, it will start to jointly train junior college-to-undergraduate primary education majors with Gannan Normal University. There are 329 faculty and staff and more than 9,000 students. Since its establishment in 1977, the school has always adhered to the educational idea of "cultivating people with morality and developing in an all-round way", and has formed a fine school spirit of "virtue, practice, pragmatism, and innovation". It has trained and delivered nearly 40,000 graduates to the society, and trained nearly 5,200 principals of primary and secondary schools and key teachers of various subjects in primary and secondary schools. After years of exploration, the school adheres to Tao Xingzhi's educational thought as a guide, and has built a talent training model of "one main and two auxiliary"; requires students to have "five qualities"; strengthen the cultivation of "six abilities" of normal students; and master "ten basic skills" to cultivate "comprehensive + specialty" excellent primary and secondary school and preschool education talents. In recent years, students have participated in the provincial preschool education "five all-around" competition and national painting competitions and won first and second prizes many times; won the first prize in the college student group A of the provincial education system's teacher-student chorus display event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party; and won the first and eighth place in the province in the Jiangxi Division of the 2021 "Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press·Ci Daren Cup" National College Students' English Vocabulary Ability Competition. Students took Mandarin, piano, teacher qualification certificate and other exams, and the pass rate ranked among the top in similar schools in the province. The Party Branch of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science Teachers was awarded the honorary title of the Excellent Party Branch of Fuzhou City, and reported and performed on behalf of the city's colleges and universities at the centralized awarding ceremony. It has won the second and third prizes in the higher vocational group of the Jiangxi Vocabulary Teaching Ability Competition for many times. The school has won the honors of "National Advanced Collective in Practicing Xingzhi Thought and Promoting Quality Education", "National Excellent Taoyan School", "Provincial Advanced Collective in the Education System", "Provincial Spiritual Civilization Unit", "Second Jiangxi Civilized Campus", "Provincial Advanced Collective in Moral Education", "Provincial Advanced Unit in School Security", "Provincial Advanced Youth League Committee", "Seventeenth Jiangxi Provincial Second Prize in Teaching Achievements", etc., and is making great strides and leapfrog development in the journey of building a distinctive kindergarten teacher training college. The school mainly recruits three-year junior college students with high school graduation and five-year junior college students with junior high school graduation, as well as some non-directional normal students.
