Yangtze River Vocational College of Art and Engineering is a private full-time general higher vocational school organized by Hubei Shibajiang Cultural Development Investment Co., Ltd., approved by the People's Government of Hubei Province, filed with the Ministry of Education, and supervised by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education. There are more than 11,000 students (September 2022). The school has built the Jingzhou City Jingchu Intangible Cultural Heritage Skills Inheritance Institute, which is a national, provincial and municipal intangible folk traditional handicrafts training base in Jingzhou, and a shared platform for the protection, inheritance and development of the intangible cultural heritage in the Jianghan Plain. 20 national and provincial representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage have signed contracts to settle in, and corresponding workshops for the display, protection, inheritance, teaching and production of intangible cultural heritage for 20 projects such as Chu-style lacquerware and Chu-style zither making have been established. It was awarded the "Hubei Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Platform".
