Guizhou Water Resources and Hydropower Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public general higher vocational college approved by the Guizhou Provincial People's Government and officially registered by the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor was the Guizhou Water Resources and Hydropower School founded in 1956, which is affiliated to the Guizhou Provincial Water Resources Department. After more than 60 years of construction and development, it has become a provincial high-level higher vocational college with distinctive characteristics of water resources and hydropower. The college currently has more than 12,000 students and more than 500 faculty and staff. The new campus is located in Guizhou (Qingzhen) Vocational Education City, covering an area of 600 acres and a planned building area of 413,900 square meters. It is a low-carbon, environmentally friendly, green, and ecologically intelligent campus with a strong water culture. The college has won more than 100 awards and honorary titles at all levels, including "National Advanced Collective of School Moral Education", "National Advanced Collective of Water Conservancy System", "National Water Conservancy Civilized Unit", "National Vocational Education 'Dual Teacher' Teacher Training Base", "'China-ASEAN Double Hundred Vocational School Strong Cooperation Flagship Plan' Characteristic Cooperation Project School", etc., and has cultivated and created tens of thousands of high-quality compound technical and skilled talents, and was praised by the Guizhou Provincial Water Resources Department as the "Cradle of Guizhou Water Conservancy Talents". The college currently has five major professional clusters, including water conservancy engineering, power engineering, civil engineering, management engineering, and intelligent engineering, 25 higher vocational majors, and two high-level professional groups. The college vigorously promotes the talent training model of combining work and study, integrating production and education, and school-enterprise cooperation. It has long-term in-depth school-enterprise cooperation with Guizhou Water Conservancy Investment Group Co., Ltd., Guizhou Construction Group, Shenzhen Wanjia Denghuo Digital Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and other enterprises inside and outside the province. There are more than 20 large and medium-sized training bases on campus, represented by the hydraulic comprehensive training center-"Dayu Pavilion" and the construction engineering training center-"Lu Ban Pavilion", which can meet the needs of practical training and teaching of various majors, and more than 100 training rooms of various types. The school, government and enterprises "join hands" to take the lead in opening a fully free order vocational education precision poverty alleviation class in vocational colleges in the province, and comprehensively carry out industry training and vocational education teacher training to promote the coordinated development of secondary and higher vocational education, and open the first off-campus teaching point of Qingzhen City University for the Elderly.
