Huangshan Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public higher vocational college officially established in March 2010 with the approval of the Anhui Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education. It is also the only public higher vocational college in Huangshan City. In April 2012, November 2013 and August 2016, Huangshan Health School, Huangshan Tea School and Huangshan Chinese Vocational School were successively incorporated as a whole. The college is a project construction unit of Anhui Province's local skill-based high-level university, a professional group construction unit of Anhui Province's "Double High Plan", a green school cultivation unit in Anhui Province, a participating university in the Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors Research and Training Program, a provincial intangible cultural heritage education transmission base, a provincial school-enterprise cooperation demonstration school, a provincial teacher training base, and the leading university of Huangshan Vocational Education Group. It has successively won the honorary titles of Anhui Province's Advanced Collective for Free Blood Donation, the National Free Blood Donation Promotion Award (Special Award), the first batch of "Water-saving Universities", a demonstration unit of conservation-oriented public institutions, the third civilized campus of Huangshan City, and the second civilized campus of Anhui Province. The college has six teaching departments, including the School of Marxism (Basic Department), the International Nursing School, the Department of Medicine, the Department of Industry and Finance and Trade, the Department of Tourism and Architecture and Gardening, and the Department of Education, as well as two teaching auxiliary institutions, the Graphic Information Center and the Continuing Education Center. In November 2023, with the approval of the Anhui Provincial Department of Education, the college established the Huangshan Homestay Industry College. The college campus covers an area of 430 acres, with a total construction area of 215,700 square meters. It has 138 on-campus training rooms and 143 off-campus experimental training bases. There are 24 majors in 10 categories, including nursing, clinical medicine, big data technology, tourism management, and preschool education. It focuses on building four major professional groups: tourism management, medical care and health care, intangible cultural heritage inheritance, and digital economy. It has one directly affiliated hospital, Huangshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and two non-directly affiliated hospitals, Huangshan People's Hospital and She County People's Hospital. In recent years, the college has always adhered to the school motto of "establishing morality, cultivating people, respecting skills and strengthening capabilities". In the past three years, it has won 29 awards in vocational skills competitions at the provincial and ministerial levels or above. In 2023, He Shuwen, a student from the School of Medicine, won the first prize in the "Clinical Skills" competition of the higher vocational group of the National Vocational College Skills Competition. In 2019, Zheng Quan, a student from the Department of Tourism and Construction, won the gold medal in the architectural stone carving project of the 45th World Skills Competition, achieving a zero breakthrough in the gold medal of the World Skills Competition in Anhui Province, and won honor for Anhui and China. The past is a glorious chapter, and we will set sail again.
