Quanzhou Vocational College of Textiles and Garments, formerly known as Shishi Private Yuqing School, was founded in 1994 and inaugurated by Mr. Wang Guangying, then Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. In 1999, the college began to apply for higher vocational education institutions. In 2001, the provincial government approved the establishment of Quanzhou Yuqing Vocational and Technical College. In 2005, it was renamed Quanzhou Vocational College of Textiles and Garments. It is a full-time general college registered by the Ministry of Education with the qualification to independently issue higher education diplomas. It is also the only higher vocational college named "Textiles and Garments" in Fujian Province. The school is located in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, the cultural capital of East Asia, a famous historical and cultural city in my country, a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, and the starting point of the "Ancient Maritime Silk Road". It is located on the south bank of Quanzhou Bay and next to the Baogai Mountain Scenic Area in the coastal city of Shishi. It currently has two campuses, south and north, covering an area of more than 500 acres. The school adheres to the overall leadership of the Party, takes Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as its guide, focuses on comprehensively improving the quality of education and teaching, takes "solid foundation, strong skills, and high quality" as its training goal, takes "job competency" as its orientation, adheres to the school-running philosophy of "characteristic school-running, standardized management, serving regional economic development, and making every student a talent", and strives to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents in the new era. The school closely follows market demand and has established 9 secondary colleges including the School of Textiles and Clothing, the School of Art, the School of Education, the School of Medical Nursing/Management, the School of Digital Economy, the School of Rural Revitalization, and the School of Social Management. 41 majors have been opened, including textiles and clothing, culture and art, finance and commerce, transportation, preschool education, e-commerce, and medical nursing. Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 30,000 graduates, with an employment rate of more than 98%, and has contributed to the construction of the West Coast Economic Zone of the Taiwan Straits and the development of local industries. It has been awarded the "China Textile Industry Talent Construction Demonstration College" by the China Textile Industry Federation (formerly the Ministry of Textile Industry of China). The school takes the textile and footwear professional group as the main body, and the digital economy professional group and the modern service professional group as the two wings to build a professional system that serves regional economic development and social progress. It has 45 training places, including the provincial clothing engineering basic experimental center, the on-campus production training base for clothing design, the Fujian Provincial College of Textile and Clothing Applied Technology Engineering Center, the French Lectra clothing CAD laboratory, the American Datacolour color matching laboratory, the printing laboratory, the aircraft simulation cabin, the piano training room, the vocal training room, the hotel management training room, the anatomical nursing training room, the strength and fitness training room, the body room, and the simulated kindergarten, providing students with a good practical teaching environment. The school is a model school for talent construction in the Chinese textile industry, an excellent unit for employment of college graduates in Fujian Province, and a high-level professional group construction unit in Fujian Province. It has been approved as a demonstration base for labor transfer training by the State Council, a demonstration virtual simulation training base in Fujian Province, a Fujian Provincial College of Textile and Clothing Applied Technology Engineering Center, a Fujian Provincial People's Fupin Digital Business Platform, and a Quanzhou Industrial Workers Skill Training Base. The school has 1 national key major, 1 provincial productive training base, 1 provincial vocational education teacher teaching innovation team, 1 provincial boutique major, 1 provincial demonstration major, 1 provincial industry-education integration demonstration major, 1 provincial vocational college service industry specialty professional group, 1 provincial and municipal high-level professional group, 5 provincial boutique courses, 5 provincial boutique online open courses, and 20 provincial "quality engineering" projects. The teaching team and individuals won the second prize in the teaching ability competition of the 2023 National Vocational College Skills Competition, 1 third prize in the National Informationized Teaching Ability Competition, 3 second prizes and 5 third prizes in the provincial teacher teaching ability competition, 7 provincial teaching achievement awards, 5 provincial-level outstanding teachers and teaching masters, 1 professional leader, 1 young and middle-aged professional leader in Quanzhou universities, 1 provincial high-level talent, and more than 10 high-level talents in Quanzhou. In recent years, our teachers and students have repeatedly won good results in national and provincial competitions. Among them, they have been among the top for four consecutive years in the Fujian Military Skills Competition. In 2022, they won the first prize with the excellent result of second place in the province. The school has always adhered to the principle of "service as the purpose, employment as the orientation, and quality improvement as the focus". It provides skills training services to the society every year, completes the appraisal of more than 2,000 people, and opens more than 20 training courses of various types. Among them, in 2021, our school successfully held the "Live E-commerce Industry Talent Vocational Skills Training and the First Phase of the Live E-commerce Training Course for Industry Leading Enterprises" commissioned by the Ministry of Commerce and the 21-year Public Employment Service Capacity Improvement Training Course for Administrative Management Cadres in Yanchi County. The school actively explores a multi-subject, multi-level, and diversified collaborative education model of industry-education integration, establishes an industry-education integration mechanism of "resource co-construction, talent co-education, benefit sharing, responsibility sharing, and process co-management", invites industry celebrities and enterprise experts to participate in the formulation of talent training programs, invites enterprise mentors to teach in school, and jointly builds internship and training bases between schools and enterprises. The school implements the "double certificate" system, integrates the professional qualification standards into the teaching content; introduces new technologies and new processes of enterprises, and cooperates with enterprises to jointly develop professional courses and teaching resources; closely integrates the school's teaching activities with the production process of enterprises, flexibly adjusts the teaching cycle, and the school and enterprises jointly complete the teaching tasks, highlighting the pertinence, flexibility and openness of talent training. The school selects professional fields with good industrial prospects, such as textiles and clothing, e-commerce, etc., introduces industry-leading enterprises and teams to the school, and establishes 5 industrial colleges, namely Huabao College, Dadi College, Jingdong College, Mengtiao College and Xiangyu Aviation College. With the help of industrial colleges, school-enterprise cooperation units, etc., make full use of off-campus training resources, jointly build off-campus training bases, and jointly cultivate scientific and technological innovation talents. The school actively explores the group-based production-education integration school-enterprise cooperation, and takes the lead in establishing the Quanzhou Textile and Garment Vocational Education Group and the Quanzhou School Uniform Vocational College Alliance. The members are mainly composed of secondary vocational colleges, industry associations and related enterprises. Next, the school will continue to take the Quanzhou Textile and Garment Vocational Education Group and the Textile, Footwear and Clothing Vocational College Alliance as the starting point, and use the creation of the Quanzhou Textile, Footwear and Clothing Industry-Education Integration Consortium as a carrier to promote the joint construction of an industry-education integration park between schools and enterprises, and gradually explore and form a systematic and large-scale industry-education integration model, and build the school into a highland of textile, footwear and clothing vocational education and a technical skills innovation service center in Fujian Province.
