Changsha Preschool Education College was established in March 2020 with the approval of the Hunan Provincial People's Government. It is sponsored by the Changsha Municipal People's Government and managed by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. It is a full-time public general college. The school was founded on the basis of Hunan Ningxiang Normal School and Changsha Art Experimental School. It was founded in 1903 by Zhou Zhenlin, a modern Chinese democratic revolutionist. Old generation revolutionaries such as Xu Teli, Xie Juezai, Liu Shaoqi and the pioneer of the democratic revolution Mr. Huang Xing have studied and worked in the school. It is a century-old school with a glorious revolutionary tradition. The school takes teacher education as its main body, and has successively opened secondary teacher education for primary and secondary schools and early childhood teacher education for preschool education. It has also undertaken the training of primary and kindergarten teachers in Changsha. At the same time, it has opened vocational education in the arts and information technology services for economic and social development. It is well-known in Hunan for its profound teacher tradition, high-quality art education and distinctive information technology service talent training. It has trained more than 60,000 talents of all levels and types for the society, especially providing important teacher support for primary and secondary schools and kindergarten education in Changsha and surrounding cities. It has won honorary titles such as "National Advanced Collective of the Education System", "National Huang Yanpei Excellent School Award", and "Hunan Civilized Model Campus". The school currently has 383 faculty and staff, including: 6 senior teachers, 110 deputy senior professional and technical personnel, 5 doctoral students, 166 master students, and the ratio of "double-qualified" teachers is 73.5%. Teachers have undertaken 55 national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects, and won 6 provincial scientific research achievement awards; and won more than 240 national, provincial and municipal first and second prizes in competitions such as the National Education Informatization Competition. The school insists on being based in Changsha, radiating Changsha, Zhuzhou, and surrounding areas, and cultivating outstanding talents such as kindergarten teachers, literary and artistic workers, and digital media engineers. The school adheres to the school-running philosophy of "paying attention to the comprehensive development of students, lifelong development, and cultivating sunny and confident professionals". The school currently offers 17 majors, including semester education, early education, infant care services and management, dance education, art education, animation design, visual communication design, digital media application technology, and software technology. It has built a professional structure with preschool education as the main body and art education and media technology as the support. The school built a new campus in Xiangshan Education City, Xiangjiang New District, Changsha. The new campus covers an area of 600 acres, with an initial investment of 1.2 billion yuan and a construction area of 220,000 square meters. The school insists on connotation development, and has launched connotation construction projects such as professional improvement, talent cultivation and introduction, and scientific research quality improvement, striving to create a well-known and provincially leading kindergarten teacher college.
