Guizhou Vocational College of Finance and Economics is a public full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Guizhou Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education in April 2020. It is affiliated to the Guizhou Provincial Department of Finance. The predecessor of the school can be traced back to the Guizhou Provincial Finance Cadre Training Class established in 1951. It was jointly established by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Finance, integrating the educational resources of Guizhou Finance School, Guizhou Finance Cadre Training Center, and Guiyang Correspondence Center of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, with the major of finance and commerce as its school characteristics. After 72 years of journey and accumulation, the school has determined the school-running philosophy of "caring about finance, being grateful and forging ahead", condensed the school motto of "Mingde Supreme Goodness, Honesty First", and precipitated the spirit of "family and country feelings, responsibility and dedication". It is a member unit of the Global Craftsmen Alliance (Asia-Pacific Region), an advanced collective in the national education system, a benchmark school for vocational education informatization of the Ministry of Education, a vice-chairman unit of the National Finance and Economics Vocational Education Group, a member unit of the National Finance and Economics Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee, and the first batch of national "Digital Accounting Education Certification (DAEC) Project" benchmark school certification units, a national school emergency education pilot school, a national comprehensive education practice experience base for colleges and universities, and the executive vice-chairman unit of the National Accounting Industry Industry-Education Integration Community, the executive director unit of the Digital Finance Working Committee of the "Belt and Road" and BRICS Skill Development International Alliance, the leading unit of the Guizhou Finance and Economics Vocational Education Group, and a member unit of the Guizhou Vocational Education Art Alliance. The school is located at No. 50, Yunzhan Road, Chengxiangchou Campus of Qingzhen Vocational Education, covering an area of 549 acres. At present, the construction of 147,000 square meters of administrative complex buildings, teaching and training buildings, dormitory buildings, and weatherproof playgrounds has been completed, and 20.32 million yuan has been invested in the construction of information projects such as smart campuses and campus security systems. The school adheres to the idea of "small but fine, specialized and special" and strictly controls the scale, improves the level, and seeks development in accordance with the approval requirements of the provincial government. Efforts are made to strengthen the development positioning of "relying on finance, based on finance, and serving the grassroots", aiming at rural economy, street communities, and small and medium-sized private enterprises, and taking a staggered development path. The school currently has 16 higher vocational enrollment majors. It is the leading institution for the professional construction of two industrial chains of modern commerce and exhibition services in Guizhou's vocational education services for 32 industrial chains. It undertakes nearly 5,000 training sessions in finance and other fields each year. The school insists on using scientific theories to guide practice and promote work. Focusing on the "four new" and focusing on the "four modernizations", it aims at new industrialization, new urbanization, agricultural modernization, and tourism industrialization, scientifically arranges majors, and constructs a "one body, two wings, and three supports" professional (group) structure with digital finance professional group as the main body, smart business professional group and big data technology professional group as the two wings, and cultural tourism professional group, humanities and arts professional group and public management service professional group as the support. Gradually formed a group of professional groups with distinctive financial characteristics, serving the main financial business and high-quality development of the grassroots economy. The school currently has 201 full-time teachers, 37 associate senior and above titles (2 senior titles), 95 people with master's degrees or above, 5 doctoral students, and 91 dual-teacher qualifications. There is currently 1 "famous teacher studio", 1 provincial excellent teaching team, and 1 Qingzhen municipal management expert. Since the establishment of higher vocational education, teachers and students of the school have won more than 100 first, second, and third prizes in national and provincial skill competitions. In 2023, the school won 9 first prizes, 16 second prizes, and 16 third prizes in the Guizhou Vocational College Teachers and Students Skills Competition and the National Vocational College Skills Competition Selection Competition; teachers won 3 individual first prizes and 2 group second prizes. The school actively explores the implementation path of vocational and general education integration, industry-education integration, and science-education integration to create a new vocational education ecosystem. It has successively established 8 industrial colleges with a number of industry-leading companies such as Huawei, JD.com, and Inspur to promote the cultivation of digital compound talents; it has in-depth cooperation with more than 20 industry companies such as UFIDA, Meituan, and PwC to jointly build 9 enterprise practice sharing platforms, 12 digital teaching resource libraries for courses, and 4 competition and training integration resource libraries to promote school-enterprise collaborative education; it has invested 150 million yuan to build 51 on-campus training bases such as the Intelligent Financial Sharing Center, the Financial Culture Experience Hall, the New Business Smart Learning Factory, and the Qianying Workshop, with more than 3,000 training stations and an average value of teaching and scientific research equipment per student exceeding 12,000 yuan. There are 2 provincial-level quality courses, 1 provincial-level demonstration major, 1 provincial-level digital campus project, and 1 provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship education base project.
