Yunnan Modern Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time general higher vocational college after the Ministry of Education approved the change of its school-running system in May 2020. The college is managed by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education. The school-running level is mainly three-year higher vocational (junior college) and five-year higher vocational (junior college) education. It is a public welfare second-class institution. The Party Committee of Yunnan Modern Vocational and Technical College is affiliated to the Chuxiong Prefecture Committee of the Communist Party of China, and implements the principal responsibility system under the leadership of the Party Committee. The college is located in the Chuxiong Prefecture Vocational Education Park on Camellia Avenue, Chuxiong City. The park is known as the "Landscape Garden Student City". There are 23,000 students of all kinds. It is one of the five comprehensive reform pilots of vocational education parks in the country of the Ministry of Education. It has successively won the "National Advanced Vocational Education Unit", "National Skilled Talent Cultivation Outstanding Contribution Award", "National Education Reform and Innovation Award", "National High-skilled Talent Training Base" and other honors. It is focusing on building a modern vocational education and training system with secondary vocational education as the foundation, higher vocational education as the backbone, and applied undergraduate education as the leader. Yunnan Modern Vocational and Technical College runs schools in strict accordance with the standards of national public higher vocational colleges. The college covers an area of 311 acres, with a building area of 117,500 square meters, assets and training equipment worth 221.188 million yuan, 344 faculty and staff, more than 60% of whom are "double-qualified" teachers, and a group of national and provincial famous teachers. In 2020, the college will recruit students from all over the province, with five majors including automobile inspection and maintenance technology, construction engineering technology, pharmaceutical production technology, hotel management, and advertising design and production, including 600 three-year students and 1,500 five-year students.
