Qinghai Higher Vocational and Technical College was established in January 2014 with the approval of the People's Government of Qinghai Province and registered with the Ministry of Education as a comprehensive, full-time public general higher vocational college. The establishment of the college ended the history of Haidong City without higher education institutions. In April 2018, the municipal party committee and government decided to integrate the resources of the former Ledu and Ping'an District Vocational and Technical Schools to establish Haidong Secondary Vocational and Technical School, and moved the entire school to the college headquarters to realize resource sharing and comprehensively enhance the school's strength; in 2019, on the basis of the original Ledu Radio and Television University, Haidong Radio and Television University was approved to run a school in the college, forming a school-running pattern with both secondary vocational and technical education and higher vocational and technical education and undergraduate education. Geographical location: The college is located in the administrative center of Haidong City, with unique location advantages, superior geographical location, long history, outstanding people, and rich humanities. The whole society advocates education, attaches importance to science and technology, and has a heavy cultural heritage. It is known as the "hometown of painted pottery" and "hometown of vegetables and fruits". With the implementation of major national strategies such as the “Belt and Road”, the withdrawal of land from Haidong to build a city, and the construction of the Lanxi Economic Zone, especially the continuous acceleration of the construction of the eastern Qinghai city cluster and the industrial structure adjustment of Haidong City, the modern characteristic industrial system and the initial scale of the new industrial corridor have provided broad space for the future development of the college. School conditions: The college covers an area of 548 acres, with a school building area of 185,400 square meters and fixed assets of nearly 1 billion yuan. The college firmly establishes the central position of teaching work and attaches great importance to the construction of experimental training rooms. The state, provinces and cities have invested nearly 450 million yuan in the construction of experimental training rooms. The municipal party committee and government invested more than 100 million yuan to build a first-class library in the province, with 700,000 paper books and 70,000 electronic books in Haidong City and Qinghai Higher Vocational and Technical College. Enrollment and employment: The college enrolls students from Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Sichuan, Yunnan and other regions. There are more than 4,000 higher vocational students, more than 1,500 secondary vocational students, and more than 1,200 radio and television students. In the past three years, our college has sent more than 6,000 secondary and higher vocational graduates to all walks of life, with an average employment rate of 94.5%. Faculty: In recent years, the Haidong Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have attached great importance to supporting the construction of the college's faculty team, and have continuously increased the efforts to introduce high-level talents, laying the foundation for the college to form a backbone faculty team mainly composed of graduate students and "dual-qualified" teachers. The college currently has 269 faculty members, 51 teachers with associate senior titles or above, including 159 teachers in higher vocational colleges, and 2 top talents selected in the second batch of Qinghai Province's "Thousands of High-end Innovative Talents Plan". Among the higher vocational teachers, 75 have a graduate degree or above, accounting for 47% of the total number of teachers in the higher vocational department. Professional settings: Our college currently has five departments, three divisions and one center (Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Finance and Commerce, Department of Modern Services, Department of Education, Department of Agriculture and Resources Environment, Department of Public Teaching, Department of Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research, Department of Physical Education, Network and Modern Education Center). The higher vocational colleges offer 21 majors, including modern logistics management, big data and accounting, photovoltaic engineering technology, agricultural product processing and quality inspection, brewing technology, preschool education, traditional ethnic skills, nursing, cooking technology and nutrition. Among them, the modern logistics management major is a cultivation project for the logistics management professional group in Qinghai Province. The secondary vocational school offers 15 majors, including early childhood care, hairdressing and image design, aviation services, and computer graphic design. Award mechanism: The college has established a relatively complete student aid and reward system. With the national scholarship, national inspirational scholarship, national grant, national student loan, college scholarship, college subsidy, opening of work-study positions and other forms of funding, we pay full attention to students with excellent character and academic performance and poor family conditions to ensure that students complete their studies on time. School-enterprise cooperation: The college actively carries out the school-running model of school-government, school-enterprise and school-school cooperation to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results for enterprises and colleges. Relying closely on the industry and regional leading industries, the college has signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with more than 100 management departments and enterprises such as the Haidong Industrial Park Management Committee and its affiliated enterprises, BYD Co., Ltd., and the National E-commerce Demonstration Base to establish long-term and stable cooperative relations; in recent years, our college has signed counterpart assistance agreements with higher vocational colleges such as Wuxi Vocational and Technical College, Wuxi City Vocational and Technical College, Gansu Wuwei Vocational College, Peili Vocational College, Lanzhou Vocational and Technical College, and Chengdu Industry and Trade Vocational and Technical College to establish a good cooperative assistance relationship, and carry out in-depth cooperation in the construction of related majors, talent training, cadre appointment, teacher training and qualification certification, and constantly innovate the mechanism of school-government, school-enterprise and school-school cooperation. At present, the college is closely focusing on the needs of regional economic and social development, adhering to the school motto of "virtue and ability", insisting on the school-running philosophy of "people-oriented, accumulation of strength, innovation, coordinated development", and striving to achieve the development goal of "governing the school according to law, strict teaching, democratic management, 'three-dimensional education', and building a distinctive higher vocational and technical college".
