The Service College of the Naval University of Engineering of the Chinese People's Liberation Army was unveiled in Tanggu, Binhai New Area on July 17, 2012. The college was upgraded and established on the basis of the former Tianjin Campus of the Naval University of Engineering. It is the only naval military academy with a full division system in Tianjin. The predecessor of the Service College of the Naval University of Engineering was the Naval Logistics Technology School. In April 1953, it moved from Qingdao, Shandong to Tanggu to run a school. In the nearly 60 years of school-running history, the scale of the college has continued to develop. In June 2012, with the approval of the Central Military Commission, the college was officially upgraded from a deputy division system to a full division system, and the Service College of the Naval University of Engineering was established. The college has established a distinctive discipline and professional system including naval logistics command, naval port construction engineering, naval port management, airport barracks, ship ordnance, sail cable coating, naval field oil supply and marine supply, covering four major disciplines of military science, engineering, economics and management, seven major logistics professional fields, and 13 professional directions. It has 1 doctoral program and 2 master's programs.
