Zhengzhou Rail Engineering Vocational College is a general college with rail transit and aviation services as its professional characteristics, approved by the Henan Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. The school currently has three campuses, covering an area of more than 1,700 acres. The existing school building area is 1 million square meters. The school building is fully functional, and the classrooms, training rooms, libraries, administrative rooms, and activity venues are reasonably structured. The school has more than 700,000 books; the school's own teaching equipment is worth 160 million yuan, and the total assets have reached 1.2 billion yuan. The school has seven colleges and three departments, including the School of Rail Engineering, the School of Locomotive and Vehicle Engineering, the School of Transportation Management, the School of Equipment Manufacturing Engineering, the School of Electrical Engineering, the School of Information Engineering, the School of Marxism, the Basic Teaching Department, the Physical Education Department, and the Secondary Technical School Department. It is committed to the construction of connotation, focusing on the quality of education and teaching, the construction of characteristic majors, and focusing on quality and characteristics. It has now formed a professional bureau with five main specialty majors, namely urban rail transit operation management, urban rail transit vehicle technology, urban rail transit engineering technology, railway communication and information technology, and railway power supply technology, and coordinated development of majors such as flight attendants, big data technology, Internet of Things application technology, and e-commerce. The school currently has 565 faculty and staff, including 416 full-time teachers, 201 teachers with graduate degrees, accounting for 48.32%; and 106 dual-qualified teachers. Our school has 126 people with associate senior titles or above, and the student-teacher ratio is 17.85:1. The age structure of teachers is reasonable and can adapt to the needs of education and teaching. In recent years, our school has repeatedly won many honors: 29 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, 43 departmental projects, and 37 other topics have been approved; 5 departmental achievement awards; 13 national patents have been authorized; more than 200 papers have been published; 3 provincial "curriculum ideological and political" demonstration courses; 8 textbooks for the 13th and 14th Five-Year Plans. In the provincial and municipal competitions, the school won 21 first prizes, 45 second prizes and 82 third prizes.
