Kashgar Vocational and Technical College was established in October 2018. It is a public higher vocational college organized by the Kashgar Prefecture Administrative Office. It is located in Kashgar Prefecture in the southwest of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on the eastern foot of the Pamir Plateau and the ancient Kashgar Oasis on the western edge of the Tarim Basin. The college has two campuses with a total area of 1,813 acres. There are more than 13,000 students, including more than 9,500 in higher vocational colleges and more than 3,900 in secondary vocational colleges; there are 903 faculty members, including 3 with doctoral degrees, 80 with master's degrees, 753 with bachelor's degrees, and 67 with junior college degrees and below; among them, there are 8 with senior professional titles, 105 with senior professional titles, and 208 with intermediate professional titles. The college is centered around the nine industrial clusters of the autonomous region and the ten major industries in Kashgar. It has 25 higher vocational majors, 15 higher vocational science and engineering majors, accounting for 60%, and 24 secondary vocational majors, covering finance and trade, electronics and information, education and sports, tourism, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, light industry and textiles, food, medicine and grain, civil engineering, culture and art, etc. Since the launch of the counterpart assistance work in 2019, the college has signed counterpart assistance and cooperation agreements with 38 higher vocational colleges in Shandong, Shanghai, Guangxi, Shanxi, etc. The counterpart assistance colleges have successively selected 110 teachers to serve in important positions in the college and invested nearly 100 million yuan in aid construction funds in Xinjiang.
