Shenmu Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public general college approved by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. It is administratively under the management of the Yulin Municipal Government and its teaching business is managed and guided by the Provincial Department of Education. It was formerly the Shenmu Campus of Yulin Vocational and Technical College. It began to enroll students in 2010 and successfully passed the talent training work evaluation of the Ministry of Education and the inspection and diagnosis of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee in 2015. It became an independent school in 2018. The college is located in Binhe New District, Shenmu City, with convenient transportation. It is planned to cover an area of 1,028 acres and a total construction area of 320,000 square meters. The construction area that has been built and put into use is about 260,000 square meters. The college currently has 6,404 students and 395 faculty and staff. The college has four departments and one division, offering 25 majors: intelligent mining technology of coal mines, applied chemical technology, mechatronics technology, thermoelectric power engineering technology, intelligent control technology, intelligent electromechanical equipment for mines, safety technology and management, industrial automation instrumentation technology, coal chemical technology, power generation and operation technology, construction engineering technology, environmental monitoring technology, surveying and mapping engineering technology, automobile inspection and maintenance technology, new energy vehicle technology, infant and child care services and management, nursing, rehabilitation therapy technology, pharmacy, digital media technology, cross-border e-commerce, big data and accounting, information security technology application, industrial Internet application, and preschool education. It has formed a professional system with energy and chemical engineering as the main specialty, accounting, education, and new energy technology as the auxiliary specialty, and both arts and science majors, and three-year and five-year systems in parallel. In terms of education and teaching, the college focuses on practice and dual-core training, adheres to the principle of "student-centered and employment-oriented", makes full use of the advantages of the national energy and chemical base to vigorously carry out in-depth cooperation between schools and enterprises, and has trained a large number of professional and technical backbones and production line managers for enterprises and institutions in Shenmu and surrounding areas of Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia, providing strong talent support for regional economic transformation and development and supply-side structural reforms; in terms of school-enterprise cooperation, it adheres to complementary advantages and integration of production and education, and has established school-enterprise cooperation relations with more than 60 well-known state-owned and private enterprises such as Shanghai Zhonglianneng Innovation Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Federal Pharmaceutical (Inner Mongolia) Co., Ltd., Shenhua Shendong Power Company, Shaanxi Coal Group Shennan Industrial Company, Shaanxi Coal Chemical Beiyuan Group, Hengyuan Group, etc.; in terms of international cooperation, it adheres to facing the world and opening up schools, and has maintained various forms of cooperation and exchanges with well-known domestic and foreign universities such as Neuss University of Economics and Technology Information, Clausthal University of Economics and Technology, Baltic University, Lyceum University of the Philippines, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and China University of Mining and Technology. Shenmu City and its surrounding areas are home to many industrial enterprises from the central, provincial and municipal governments. The tertiary industry is complete and large in scale, and there is a strong demand for skilled and application-oriented talents. In addition, the Shenmu Municipal Government organizes large-scale special job fairs for central, provincial and municipal enterprises stationed in Shenmu and various municipal-run enterprises every year to promote the employment of graduates. In the past three years, the employment rate of our graduates has been above 90%, among which more than one-third of graduates from energy and chemical engineering majors are employed in central and provincial state-owned enterprises, and students have "high employment rate for professional counterparts, high starting salary and high employment stability rate". The college adheres to the concept of higher education institutions serving the society, makes full use of the advantages of on-campus faculty and teaching venues to serve the regional economy, and makes comprehensive and reasonable arrangements and layouts for training, so that the enterprise training model is diversified and diversified, and the course setting is comprehensive and personalized.
