Lanzhou Aeronautical Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general college approved by the Gansu Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. It is a junior college and the only public aviation college in Gansu Province. It has been engaged in the training of technical and skilled personnel in the aerospace equipment manufacturing industry for more than 60 years. The college is located at No. 274 Wanxin North Road, Anning District, Lanzhou City. Its predecessor was Wanli Institute of Technology, which was founded in 1960. The college has distinct aviation characteristics, with application-oriented and military-civilian integration as its school-running orientation. It closely focuses on the development needs of the aviation, intelligent manufacturing and other industries in the country and Gansu Province, and implements the "one main (airport economic industry) two wings (aviation electromechanical, mechanical intelligent manufacturing) multi-level open school-running" model. It has 8 colleges including aviation electromechanical engineering, information engineering, airside economic industry, intelligent manufacturing, and humanities college. The college's professional settings are closely centered around the development needs of the airport industry, focusing on building advantageous professional groups and cultivating technical and skilled talents that meet market demand. It offers 23 general higher vocational majors such as aircraft electromechanical equipment maintenance, flight attendants, intelligent manufacturing equipment technology, and big data technology, covering military aircraft manufacturing, civil aviation passenger aircraft maintenance, mechanical equipment manufacturing, aviation management services and other occupational categories, closely following the country's ten major development areas of new generation information technology, high-end CNC machine tools and robots, aerospace equipment, and at the same time in line with Gansu Province's ten major ecological industry projects such as military-civilian integration, advanced manufacturing and drone industry. Focusing on "Skillful Gansu", the college has built a "Cradle of Craftsmen". The majors it offers and the industry background it relies on are greatly in line with the needs of key industrial development in Lanzhou City and Lanzhou New District, helping to revitalize Lanzhou manufacturing and build a digital Lanzhou. The new campus of the college is located in the western area of the Vocational Education Park in Lanzhou New District, with Keti Road to the east, Kexi Road to the west, Wei 26th Road to the north, and KJ4# planned road of the Vocational Education Park to the south. The initial planned construction land is 650 mu and the building area is 270,000 square meters. With the support of Zhongchuan Airport, it has a unique advantage in the background of the airport economy industry, which enables the college to seize opportunities faster, integrate into the overall situation, radiate Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, Xinjiang and Tibet, and promote vocational education to better serve the local economic and social development of Gansu, and provide more favorable intellectual support and talent guarantee for the construction of the province's science and education, talent-strengthening province, and the airport economic zone and the golden section of the "Silk Road Economic Belt", and cultivate and deliver more and better high-quality technical and skilled talents, skilled craftsmen, and great country craftsmen for the city's equipment manufacturing and information industries. In 2009, it joined the first provincial vocational education group, Gansu Electromechanical Vocational Education and Training Group and the "Two Youngsters" Vocational Education and Training Group; in 2016, it joined the Gansu Intelligent Manufacturing Vocational Education Group; in 2017, it joined the Silk Road Vocational Education Alliance. In 2013 and 2018, it was twice identified as a "national high-skilled talent training base" by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Finance, and was identified as a "provincial high-skilled talent training base" by the Gansu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and the Provincial Department of Finance. In 2013 and 2014, it was identified as an off-campus education internship base by Northwest Normal University and Lanzhou City College respectively. It has more than 20 training rooms for various types of machinery, electronics and electrical, industrial robots, Internet of Things, CNC equipment application and maintenance, PLC and frequency conversion, aviation services, etc. It has a mechanical processing internship factory with CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, CNC machining centers, wire cutting machines, electric spark machines, three-coordinate measuring instruments, five-axis CNC machine tools, ordinary cars, milling, planing, grinding, drilling, pliers and other teaching instruments and equipment 826 sets (sets), worth 15.4 million yuan. It has 25,000 various tools, measuring tools and fixtures that match teaching. The school library has a collection of 180,000 books, an advanced distance education center, 9 computer training rooms, and more than 500 high-end student computers.
