Qinghai Qaidam Vocational and Technical College is located at No. 32 Dulan West Road, Delingha City, the "Golden World" of the Qaidam Basin, the cornucopia of the motherland. It is adjacent to the Qaidam Circular Economy Experimental Zone, which is rich in resources and has broad prospects. The campus covers an area of 900 acres, with a building area of 150,000 square meters. There are 6,211 students in secondary and higher vocational schools. It implements the management system of "one campus, two schools, one team, two brands, resource sharing, different management, and integrated operation" with Haixi Prefecture Vocational and Technical School. The college was established in 2014 with the approval of the People's Government of Qinghai Province and is a public full-time higher vocational college jointly built by the province and the state. At present, the college is a member unit of the National Research Association of Higher Vocational and Technical Education, and has been listed in the second batch of modern apprenticeship pilot colleges of the Ministry of Education; a pilot unit of the "1+X" certificate system of the Ministry of Education; a member unit of the Northwest Branch of the National Modern Service Industry Vocational Education Group; a member unit of the National Joint Conference of Presidents of Higher Vocational Colleges; a member unit of the China-Central and Eastern European Vocational College Industry-Education Alliance; a member unit of the China Chemical Education Association; a member unit of the China Electric Power Development Promotion Association; a member unit of the "China University Makerspace" Alliance; a member unit of the Qinghai Transportation Vocational Education Group; a member unit of the Qinghai Information Technology Vocational Education Alliance, and a member unit of the Qinghai Education International Exchange Association. The college currently has 416 faculty members, 34 of whom have senior professional titles or above, including 1 person selected for the provincial "135 High-level Talent Training Project" talent plan, 2 selected as "Western Light" visiting scholars, 1 selected for the provincial "High-end Innovative Talent Thousand Talents Plan", 1 selected as the provincial "Kunlun Famous Teacher", 1 selected as the provincial outstanding professional and technical talent, 2 provincial key teacher training targets, 7 state-level "Famous Teacher Studios", 2 teachers with doctoral degrees, 40 teachers with postgraduate degrees or above, and professional and technical teachers account for more than 85% of the total number of faculty members. The college has 7 teaching departments, including the Department of Chemical Engineering, the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Medicine, the Department of Automotive Engineering, the Department of Education, the Department of Economic Management, and the Department of Bioengineering, 2 public institutions, including the Department of Public Basics and the Department of Ideological and Political Education, and 1 teaching auxiliary institution, the Mental Health Education Research Center. Relying on the industrial advantages of the Qaidam Circular Economy Experimental Zone, the college has opened 32 higher vocational majors and 12 secondary vocational majors, covering 19 major categories and 26 professional classifications, including finance and trade, electronic information, transportation, tourism, energy and power and materials, biology and chemical engineering, food, medicine and grain, medicine and health, equipment manufacturing, resources, environment and safety. In 2021, the college's applied chemical technology major (group) was selected into the Qinghai Province High-level Higher Vocational School and High-level Professional Construction Plan Sequence. In 2022, Haixi Prefecture Vocational and Technical School was identified as an excellent school construction unit for secondary vocational education in the province, and the two majors of chemical technology and electromechanical technology application were identified as high-quality professional (group) projects in the province. The college has built 11 "1+X" certificate pilot majors, 6 provincial-level advantageous and characteristic majors, 3 provincial-level key construction majors (groups), 21 provincial-level modern vocational education quality improvement plan majors, and 3 state-level key construction majors, forming a professional layout of vocational education with chemical engineering as the brand, mechanical and electrical, auto repair, tourism, finance, medical care, education and other majors as the pillars, and a complete professional category of vocational education. The vocational education system of "middle, high and undergraduate" education is connected. The college has built 21 on-campus training bases, 181 on-campus training (test) rooms, more than 90 off-campus internship companies, signed school-enterprise collaborative education agreements with 56 enterprises in 3 economic parks in the province, and built 23 off-campus internship training bases. The college innovatively promotes the reform of the cooperative school-running system of "government, school and enterprise" tripartite linkage, deepens the integration of production and education, and the school-enterprise cooperation mechanism. Focusing on the development needs of the Qaidam Circular Economy Industrial Park, it has signed a cooperation agreement with the Delingha Industrial Park Management Committee and others, and implemented the "order enrollment, directional training" talent training model to open up an ideal channel for students to practice and find employment. The college has signed counterpart assistance agreements with key vocational colleges in the east, including Zhejiang Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical College, Zhejiang Finance Vocational College, Ningbo Vocational and Technical College, Zhejiang Textile and Garment Vocational and Technical College, Zhejiang Tourism Vocational College, Wenzhou Vocational and Technical College, Zhejiang Open University, Shangyu District Vocational Education Center, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, Tongxiang Health School, Zhejiang Normal University Hangzhou Preschool Education College, etc., to jointly build a "Zhejiang-Haixi" vocational education co-construction and sharing platform, forming a "10+1" counterpart assistance model for Chaiyuan. The college has in-depth cooperation with Lanzhou Petrochemical Vocational and Technical University, Jiuquan Vocational and Technical College, and Lanzhou Resources and Environment Vocational and Technical University to promote the results of Gansu-Qinghai educational cooperation and exchanges, and promote professional discipline construction, teacher training, and resource sharing. It has carried out a pilot project of "joint schooling" between secondary and higher vocational schools with 21 enterprises in 6 secondary vocational schools in the province.
