Yantai City Science and Technology Vocational College is a full-time general higher vocational college founded by Oriental Cambridge Education Group, approved by the Shandong Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. The school is located in the beautiful coastal city of Yantai, in the core area of Yantai Huangbohai New District, one of the four provincial new districts in Shandong Province. The project was launched in September 2017, and construction started in May 2019. In April 2023, the Shandong Provincial People's Government approved the establishment of Yantai City Science and Technology Vocational College. On May 15, the school was officially unveiled. Relying on the group-based school-running advantages of Oriental Cambridge, the school has a high starting point, open school-running, and characteristic development. The planned area is 1,028 acres, with a school building area of nearly 400,000 square meters. It has now obtained 501 acres of land for education. At present, there are 120,000 square meters of school buildings, including teaching buildings, experimental training buildings, libraries, teachers and students' apartments, restaurants, and sports stadiums. The second phase of the project with an area of 160,000 square meters, including teaching training buildings, student apartments, and restaurants, is under planning and construction. The school has a teaching staff led by famous teachers, industry leaders, and full-time and part-time backbone teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 56.4% of them have a master's degree or above, 31.6% have senior professional titles, and 49.6% have "double-qualified" teachers with front-line practical experience in enterprises or professional qualifications. Among the external part-time teachers and industry mentors, there is 1 "great country craftsman", 1 provincial teaching master, and 8 part-time and visiting professors. The school continues to carry out the construction of teachers' ethics and style, implements the "six ones" teacher quality improvement project, the "2+1" young teacher growth project, the "double-qualified" teacher standard project, the teaching quality project cultivation project and the key task "unveiling the list and taking charge" system, and builds a teacher training system that combines systematization and thematicization. The teaching staff is gradually developing in a healthy direction towards a reasonable professional title structure, a scientific academic structure, a younger age structure, a diversified academic structure, and a complete ability structure. The school serves the national strategic needs, connects with regional industrial development, and actively integrates into the overall situation of the transformation of old and new kinetic energy and the construction of a pilot zone for green, low-carbon and high-quality development in Shandong Province. Focusing on the two key areas of "city" and "technology", facing the development of modern cities and new technologies in the intelligent era, it has 6 major training centers including intelligent manufacturing, modern information technology, finance and trade, smart health care, smart logistics and public infrastructure. Five major professional groups, including urban intelligent technology, urban planning and design, urban business management, green chemical technology, health care management and services, are established. 30 high-quality majors with high compatibility with regional industries and broad prospects for student development are planned to be built. The number of students on campus is planned to exceed 15,000 by 2025. The school's professional construction is oriented to national needs and regional development. In 2023, 9 majors, including intelligent control technology, industrial robot technology, modern communication technology, computer network technology, big data technology, big data and accounting, e-commerce, online marketing and live e-commerce, and rehabilitation therapy technology, have been enrolled in the first batch of nearly 3,000 students, and the school's talent training, teaching and research, social services and other aspects have been fully launched, entering a new stage of high-quality development. The school actively participates in the construction of industry-education consortiums and communities. It builds industrial colleges with leading enterprises in the industry such as Huawei, JD.com, and Huazhong CNC, and runs majors in school-enterprise cooperation to implement dual-main sports. At the same time, it actively implements the integration of industry and education, science and education, and builds a new school-running system. It integrates the teaching park, industrial park, science and technology park, and entrepreneurial park. The industrial college and the college operate in coordination to form a "four parks and two colleges" school-running system.
