Changsha Rail Transit Vocational College is a modern higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Hunan Province, registered by the Ministry of Education, and supervised by the People's Government of Changsha City. The college is located in Jinyang New City, Changsha Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, close to Changsha Huanghua International Airport and Changsha South High-speed Railway Station. It has convenient transportation, developed economy, and profound historical and cultural heritage. The college has a planned area of 1,500 acres, and has an educational and teaching building area of nearly 200,000 square meters. The college appointed Mr. Shen Zhiyun, the "Father of China's High-speed Wheel and Rail" and an academician of the two academies, as the lifelong honorary dean. At present, there are more than 200 full-time teachers, 81 teachers with senior professional titles, 132 full-time teachers with postgraduate degrees, 28 doctors, and 85 "double-qualified" teachers.
