The Xinjiang Judicial Police Vocational College was established in March 2023 with the approval of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is a full-time general higher police college organized by the Autonomous Region Justice Department. It is responsible for training talents and training judicial administration practitioners for grassroots units such as prisons, drug rehabilitation centers, and judicial offices in the region, as well as important fields such as resettlement assistance, community corrections, and people's mediation. It is the main channel for talent training in the autonomous region's judicial administration system, the main position for police training, and the main force in criminal education and transformation research. The college's predecessor, the Xinjiang Judicial Police School, was founded in 1981. In the course of more than 40 years of schooling, it has held college education for 26 years and accumulated rich experience in running schools. It has trained and delivered more than 30,000 professional and applied talents for the Xinjiang judicial administration system. Among them, from 2015 to 2020, it carried out cooperative education projects with the Central Judicial Police College, opened higher vocational judicial administration majors, and recruited and trained full-time college students. The college is located in Urumqi, Xinjiang, covering a total area of more than 260 acres, with a building area of nearly 100,000 square meters, teaching equipment with a total value of more than 17 million yuan, 18 off-campus internship and training bases, and a collection of 140,000 books.
