Tempered by the flames of the Anti-Japanese War, the blood of ordnance is infused. Chongqing University of Technology was founded in 1940. Its predecessor was the 11th Technical School of the Ordnance Department of the National Government (external alias "Shiji Public School"). It was once one of the "Seven Sons of Ordnance" renowned in China. It is now a key university in Chongqing and a high-level new engineering university in Chongqing. It is also the only general undergraduate university in the southwest with an ordnance background. The school is located in Chongqing. It has three campuses, including Huaxi, Liangjiang, and Yangjiaping. The school building area is 1.03 million square meters. There are more than 30,000 full-time undergraduates, graduate students, and international students, including more than 6,000 graduate students. The main campus of Huaxi has graceful and elegant buildings, and the landscape blends mountains and waters. The school adheres to the principle of cultivating people with moral integrity, and is oriented to and serves the national and local economic and social development. It has built a multidisciplinary professional system with coordinated development of science, engineering, literature, management, economics, law, medicine, and art. It has 14 key disciplines in Chongqing during the "14th Five-Year Plan", 15 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points (covering 46 second-level discipline master's degree authorization points), 12 master's professional degree authorization categories, and disciplines such as engineering, materials science, and chemistry are ranked in the top 1% of the ESI global ranking. The school has 69 undergraduate majors, including 11 national first-class undergraduate major construction points, 4 characteristic majors, and 2 comprehensive reform pilot majors. It has the first batch of modern industrial colleges of the Ministry of Education, as well as national virtual teaching and research rooms, experimental teaching demonstration centers, demonstrative virtual simulation experimental teaching projects, and off-campus practical education bases for college students. The university insists on putting talents first, and has established four provincial and ministerial talent platforms, including the Chongqing Talent Management Reform Pilot Zone, Chongqing Postdoctoral Research Station, Chongqing Academician Expert Station, and Chongqing Haizhi Station. It has cultivated and gathered more than 300 outstanding talents at the provincial and ministerial levels, including winners of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, national candidates for the Hundred Thousand Talents Project, candidates for the National High-level Youth Talent Program, young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions to the country, national model teachers, and Chongqing talents. It has won many honors such as "Chongqing Overseas Students Advanced Working Group" and "City Talent Work Advanced Group". The university insists on innovative development and has established 48 scientific research and innovation platforms at the provincial and ministerial levels, including the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education, the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, the Joint Laboratory of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, and the Collaborative Innovation Center jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education. It has established a number of scientific and technological service platforms, such as the National University Science and Technology Park. Two projects including the Chongqing CNC Machine Tool Research Institute of China General Technology Group have settled in the Western China (Chongqing) Science City and have been selected as priority construction projects. A number of innovative achievements marked by the theory and technology of nano-time grating precision displacement measurement have reached the international and domestic leading level. Among them, the relevant technical achievements of nano-time grating have realized the independent control of my country's precision displacement measurement technology and devices. It has been praised by People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency and others as one of the representatives of "Chinese Precision", and has made a wonderful appearance at the National "13th Five-Year Plan" Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Exhibition and the "Strive for a New Era" Theme Achievement Exhibition. The university adheres to the principle of open education, and has carried out multi-form, in-depth and wide-ranging cooperation and exchanges with 59 universities and research institutions in more than 20 countries and regions such as the United States, Britain, France, Spain, Russia, South Korea and Japan. It is a member university of the international alliance organization such as the China-Poland University Alliance of the Belt and Road Initiative, and took the lead in initiating the establishment of the Western Land-Sea New Channel Intellectual Property University Alliance. The school insists on the deep integration of production, learning, research and application, and has established school-local cooperation with many cities (districts) and counties in China. It has established strategic partnerships with many well-known domestic universities and research institutes such as Beijing Institute of Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and China Ordnance Science Research Institute, and has carried out close industry-university-research cooperation with many well-known domestic companies such as Ordnance Equipment Group, Ordnance Industry Group, China General, and Changan.
