Jilin University is a national key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education, located in Changchun City, Jilin Province. The school was founded in 1946, listed as a national key university in 1960, and became one of the first 22 universities to establish a graduate school in 1984. It is a national "211 Project", "985 Project" and the first batch of "Double First-Class" universities. The school has always adhered to the school motto of "seeking truth and innovation, inspiring and strengthening", and insisted on "academic establishment, talent strengthening, innovation, openness and culture honoring" as the development strategy, and strived to build it into an important base for the cultivation of high-quality innovative talents, high-level scientific research and achievement transformation, high-quality social services, high-level international exchanges and cooperation, and advanced cultural guidance in the national and regional economic and social development; to become a university that allows students to develop in an all-round way, makes faculty and staff proud, is highly praised by the society, and is widely recognized by the world. By the 100th anniversary of the founding of the school, we will strive to build Jilin University into a world-class university with Chinese characteristics. The school has a complete range of disciplines, with 52 teaching units, covering 13 major disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, art, and interdisciplinary disciplines; there are 140 undergraduate majors, 56 first-level master's degree authorization points, 48 first-level doctoral degree authorization points, 7 emerging interdisciplinary degree authorization points, 36 master's professional degree authorization points, 9 doctoral professional degree authorization points; 48 postdoctoral research mobile stations. The ESI rankings of 19 disciplines (fields) are in the top 1% in the world, and 5 of them are in the top 1‰ in the world. The school has a strong faculty, with 6,358 full-time teachers, including 2,468 professors. There are 12 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 7 senior professors of philosophy and social sciences, 40 external outstanding professors, 21 members of the subject evaluation group of the State Council Academic Degree Committee, 7 national teaching masters, 30 experts selected for the National "Million Talents Project", 42 winners of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, 56 winners of the National Excellent Youth Fund, and 152 experts selected for the Jilin Province "Changbai Mountain Scholars". The school currently has 6 national (national) key laboratories, 1 national engineering laboratory, 6 national and local joint engineering laboratories, 1 national engineering technology research center, 4 national international science and technology cooperation bases, 1 national applied mathematics center, 6 key research bases of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, 12 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education, 6 engineering research centers of the Ministry of Education, 2 joint laboratories of international cooperation of the Ministry of Education, 4 collaborative innovation centers jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the provinces, 1 field scientific observation and research station of the Ministry of Education, 1 innovation center for basic medical research of the Ministry of Education, and 25 key laboratories of other industry ministries and commissions. The school has undertaken a large number of national and provincial scientific research projects, and produced a number of high-tech achievements with good industrialization prospects and high technical content. The school has established a complete high-level talent training system of bachelor-master-doctor. There are 75,350 students (72,022 full-time and 3,328 part-time), including 149 preparatory students, 41,853 undergraduates, 22,779 master students (19,924 full-time and 2,855 part-time), 9,599 doctoral students (9,126 full-time and 473 part-time), and 967 international students. The school focuses on cooperation with world-renowned universities and gradually improves its global cooperation network. It has established cooperative relations with 308 universities and research institutions in 42 countries and regions. Among them, 50 are ranked in the top 100 in the world and 69 are ranked in the top 200. The school has cooperated with universities and research institutions in 12 countries to build 45 Sino-foreign cooperation platforms. The school campus covers an area of 7.3459 million square meters (including 1.5035 million square meters of Zhuhai Research Institute), and the school building area is 2.8598 million square meters. The school has built Zhuhai Research Institute in Zhuhai City, covering an area of 1.5035 million square meters. The school library has a collection of 8.0561 million books of various types. It is the Northeast Regional Center of China Higher Education Document Assurance System (CALIS), a member library of the University Digital Library International Cooperation Program (CADAL) project, and the Northeast Regional Center of China University Humanities and Social Sciences Documentation Center (CASHL).
