Shanghai University of Technology was founded in 1954. It is now a high-level local university that Shanghai has focused on building. It is an applied and innovative university with distinctive characteristics and bachelor, master and doctoral training levels. The school has distinct professional characteristics and a reasonable discipline layout. It has 19 secondary colleges (departments) and 56 undergraduate majors, covering engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law, agriculture, art and other disciplines. Among them, there are 11 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 14 Shanghai first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and 11 Shanghai applied undergraduate pilot majors; 6 majors have passed the China Engineering Education Professional Certification, and 1 major has passed the international professional certification. Focusing on the key capabilities of future engineers, we have built an application-oriented innovative talent training model led by "love of technology", "six integrations" and "double synergies", and are committed to cultivating high-quality application-oriented innovative talents with ideals, beliefs, patriotism, strong skills and courage to take responsibility. There are currently 4 national and Shanghai experimental teaching demonstration centers and 1 national engineering education practice center. It has 19 provincial and ministerial innovation platforms, including the Engineering Research Center for Flavors, Fragrances and Cosmetics of the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) Superhard Coating and Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center, Shanghai Green Fluorinated Pharmaceutical Engineering Technology Research Center, Shanghai Light Detection Materials and Devices Engineering Technology Research Center, and Shanghai Food Flavor and Quality Control Engineering Technology Research Center. Co-build industrial research institutes, Shanghai University Science and Technology Park, Shanghai Entrepreneurship College, China-Europe Intellectual Property College and various collaborative innovation institutes, industry-university-research workstations, technology transfer centers and other high-level technology innovation and achievement incubation platforms. In recent years, the university has been approved for more than 130 national projects, including national key R&D program projects, key special projects of national key R&D program, key projects of National Natural Science Foundation, and special projects of national major scientific research instruments, and nearly 200 provincial and ministerial projects; it has won more than 50 national, provincial and ministerial and national industry associations of various scientific and technological awards, including 1 second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and 1 first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award.
