The school is surrounded by mountains and the sea, and has excellent conditions for running schools. It has formed a school-running pattern of one school, two locations (Dalian City, Panjin City), and three districts (Dalian Lingshui Main Campus, Development Zone Campus, and Panjin Campus), with a total area of 3.5713 million square meters and a building area of about 1.9661 million square meters. The school library currently has a total of more than 3.74 million physical collections (items), and has subscribed to 97 platforms and 267 databases, including about 1.86 million Chinese and foreign electronic books and more than 51,000 electronic journals. The school currently has a sports venue area of 155,000 square meters. The school has a first-class smart campus environment, with full coverage of wired and wireless networks in the three campuses, and has built a complete information service support system. The supercomputing center provides strong support for scientific research. The campus card has realized multi-channel authentication and consumption of "card, code, face", and the information construction and application are at an advanced level among domestic universities. The school is determined to promote the opening up of education to the outside world. Focusing on the regional strategic layout of "improving and expanding the 'Belt and Road', deepening Northeast Asia, and deepening international cooperation with Europe and the United States", the school has carried out international work in teaching, faculty, talent training, scientific research and organizational management in all aspects. At present, it has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with 313 well-known overseas universities and scientific research institutions in 43 countries and regions. It initiated the China Excellent University Alliance-Japan National Six University Alliance and the China-Ukraine University Alliance, and joined 19 international university alliances such as the China-Russia Engineering University Alliance. The school has 3 Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institutions (the cooperative universities are Ritsumeikan University in Japan, the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, and the Belarusian State University), and 1 Sino-foreign cooperatively-run project (the cooperative university is the University of California, Irvine, USA). There are more than 450 student overseas exchange programs, including state-sponsored, joint training, exchange study, short-term exchange visits, etc., with an annual selection scale of more than 2,500 people; more than 1,700 teachers are sent abroad for long-term and short-term government-sponsored, advanced studies, conferences, and visits each year; nearly 600 long-term and short-term overseas experts and scholars are hired to work and study at the school each year; since 2023, the school has 1,660 international students, of which 56.7% are degree students. Facing the future, the school will inherit the red gene of Dalian University of Technology, carry forward the spirit of Dalian University of Technology, aim to build a world-class university with distinctive characteristics, practice the historical mission of "four services", deepen comprehensive reforms, strengthen connotation characteristics, and strive to promote the development of the school to achieve a new historical leap.
