Changsha University was founded in 1970. Its origins can be traced back to the teacher training class of the Changsha Revolutionary Committee in November 1970, Changsha Basic University in July 1978, and Changsha University in May 1983. In 2004, it was upgraded from the original Changsha University (junior college) to a full-time public undergraduate college, implementing the system of "co-construction and co-management by the province and the city, with Changsha as the main management". Location conditions The school is located in Changsha, the world's "media art capital", a famous historical and cultural city in China, an important central city in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and a provincial capital-level megacity. The school is located in the core functional area of Malanshan Video Cultural and Creative Park, "China V Valley", one of the "two mountains" (Yuelu Mountain and Malan Mountain) strategies in Hunan Province, and the ninth bend of "Liuyang River, Nine Bends". The campus covers an area of more than 1,970 acres, with a school building area of about 467,000 square meters, a total value of teaching and scientific research equipment of about 269 million yuan, and a collection of 1.586 million books. From 2014 to 2022, it has won the title of "Excellent Unit of Employment and Entrepreneurship Project" in Hunan Province for four consecutive sessions.
