Anhui University of Science and Technology is a provincial undergraduate college with a long history of running schools, profound cultural heritage, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. The school started as the Northern Anhui Advanced Agricultural and Forestry School in 1950 and began to offer undergraduate education in 1965. After the changes of Anhui Fengyang Agricultural College, Anhui Agricultural College Fengyang Branch, Northern Anhui Agricultural College, Anhui Agricultural Technology Normal College, Anhui Technical Normal College, etc., it was renamed Anhui University of Science and Technology in 2005. In 2012, it began to train graduate students independently and became a master's degree awarding institution in 2021. For 73 years, generations of Anke people have passed on the torch and forged ahead, and the school has made great progress. There are 21,000 full-time undergraduates and graduate students in the school, and a total of more than 120,000 outstanding graduates have been sent to the national and local economic and social development. The school adheres to the school motto of "Mingde, Zhizhi, Duxing, and Innovation", promotes the Anke spirit of "hard work, pioneering innovation, truth-seeking and pragmatic, and selfless dedication", implements the five major strategies of "quality-based school, talent-based school, characteristic-based school, cultural school, and law-based school", and has formed an applied discipline and professional system with agricultural science as its feature, agricultural and industrial management as its main body, and multi-disciplinary mutual support and coordinated development, becoming a distinctive application-oriented university. It has been successively rated as a national graduate employment typical experience university, a national innovation and entrepreneurship typical experience university, a national university practice education innovation and entrepreneurship base project implementation university, a national college student social practice advanced unit, a national education modernization promotion project construction university, an excellent undergraduate teaching work evaluation university of the Ministry of Education, an implementation university of the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program", an Anhui Provincial Civilized Unit, an Anhui Provincial Talent Work Advanced Unit, the first batch of application-oriented high-level university construction universities in Anhui Province, an Anhui Provincial University Graduate Employment Model Unit, and an Anhui Provincial Employment Advanced Collective. The school covers an area of more than 2,000 acres and currently has Fengyang Campus and Bengbu Longhu Campus. Fengyang Campus is located in the ancient city of Zhongdu in the Ming Dynasty, the hometown of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty. The campus is shaded by trees, blooming with flowers, and has a beautiful environment. Longhu Campus is located in Bengbu University Town, adjacent to Bengbu University Science and Technology Park, high-speed rail station, and Longzi Lake Scenic Area. There are currently 5 basic experimental teaching centers, 27 professional experimental teaching centers (rooms) and 7 subject platforms. It has 37 national and provincial science and technology innovation platforms, 1 national off-campus practical education base for college students, 13 provincial demonstration experimental training centers, 1 provincial student labor education practice base, and 1 provincial dual innovation practice teaching center. The library has more than 1.52 million paper books and more than 1.34 million electronic books. The school currently has 14 secondary colleges, 50 undergraduate enrollment majors, 2 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 1 comprehensive reform pilot major, 2 characteristic majors, 4 outstanding engineer education and training program majors, and 3 reform pilot majors for compound application-oriented outstanding agricultural and forestry talent education and training program. Won 2 second prizes of national teaching achievement awards, 3 provincial special prizes and 11 first prizes. Approved 2 national first-class courses, undertaken 5 national new engineering, new agricultural and new liberal arts research and practice projects. It has 6 provincial key disciplines, 3 provincial peak cultivation disciplines, 16 first-class undergraduate professional construction points, 3 first-class (brand) majors, 16 comprehensive reform pilot majors, and 11 characteristic majors. Agronomy, veterinary medicine, animal science, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, mechatronics engineering, computer science and technology, optoelectronic information science and engineering, robotics engineering, applied chemistry, inorganic non-metallic materials engineering, environmental engineering, landscape architecture, financial management, business administration and other 14 majors are included in the first batch of undergraduate admissions, and seed science and engineering majors are included in the early batch of admissions as a national shortage major. The school currently has nearly 1,400 faculty and staff, including more than 400 teachers with senior titles such as professors and associate professors, and nearly 390 teachers with doctoral degrees. There are 11 national and provincial outstanding teachers, 2 New Century Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education, 6 provincial academic and technical leaders and reserve candidates, 8 experts enjoying special allowances from the State Council and the provincial government, and 3 Anhui Provincial Technical Leaders. There is 1 national teaching team, 19 provincial teaching teams, 15 provincial scientific research innovation teams, 29 provincial teaching masters, and 48 provincial new teachers. The school vigorously promotes scientific research and technological development. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 2,300 scientific research projects at all levels and types, including the National Natural Science Foundation, the Social Science Foundation, etc., including 600 at the provincial (ministerial) level or above. More than 90 academic works have been published, more than 1,100 high-level academic papers have been published, and more than 80 scientific research awards at the municipal and departmental levels or above have been won, including 1 second prize of the National Natural Science Award and 1 second prize of the National Technological Invention Award. More than 2,300 patents have been authorized, including nearly 600 invention patents, and it has been ranked among the top ten universities in the province for many consecutive years. More than 1,400 school-enterprise and school-property-university-research cooperation projects have been carried out with local governments and related enterprises. The school vigorously implements the "cooperative education project abroad", carefully organizes outstanding college students to study abroad, carries out agricultural master's degree education for international students, and has established exchanges and cooperation with 26 universities in the United States, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Russia and Taiwan. In the long-term practice of running schools, the school has formed a good teaching style of "dedication, moral education, rigorous scholarship, and excellence" and an excellent style of study of "diligent in learning, good at thinking, hard work, unity and cooperation". Students have won 206 national awards and 1,343 provincial awards in various innovation and entrepreneurship competitions at all levels such as Internet+ and Challenge Cup. The rate of students taking the postgraduate entrance examination has always maintained a high proportion, the admission rate of some majors has reached 60%, and the employment rate of graduates has always remained above 95%.
