Hubei University of Economics is a full-time undergraduate college run by the People's Government of Hubei Province, a master's degree-granting institution approved by the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, and a university supported by the National "14th Five-Year Plan" Education Power Promotion Project. The school's history can be traced back to the "Hubei Commercial Middle School" founded by Zhang Zhidong in 1907. It was approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2002 and was established by merging the former Hubei Commercial College, Wuhan Finance College, and Hubei Provincial Planning and Management Cadre College. The school currently has 63 undergraduate majors and 18,660 full-time undergraduate students; it has opened three professional master's degree programs in accounting, finance, and law, and 1,012 graduate students; there are 1,154 full-time teachers, including 155 professors, 423 associate professors, and 635 teachers with doctoral degrees, accounting for 55.03%; the campus covers an area of 2,192 acres, and the school building area is 793,000 square meters. The school is located in the hinterland of Wuhan Optics Valley Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, on the banks of the beautiful Tangxun Lake, and strives to create a campus ecological landscape axis, which is sparse and unique, surrounded by green water, lush trees, flowers all year round, and humanities and wisdom complement each other. It has been rated as a provincial ecological garden-style school. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the school fully implements the Party’s education policy, comprehensively strengthens the Party’s leadership, implements the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, and upholds the school motto of "being virtuous and knowledgeable, and benefiting the world and the people". It has established four provincial advantageous and characteristic disciplines (groups), including law, modern service industry, regional economic development and carbon neutrality, and artificial intelligence and digital economy. The school focuses on building first-class undergraduate education, focusing on "three-dimensional education" and "five ideological and political education", actively building good majors, good courses, good textbooks, good laboratories, and good classrooms, and promoting the reform of talent training models. Finance, finance, marketing, accounting, tourism management, law, economics, leisure sports, business English, journalism, software engineering, financial management, logistics management, insurance, statistics, computer science and technology, auditing, e-commerce, animation 19 majors have been approved as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 8 majors have been approved as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 8 courses such as finance and monetary finance have been rated as national "gold courses", and 66 courses have been rated as provincial "gold courses". Won 2 national college ideological and political teaching demonstration awards, and built 4 national and provincial economic management experimental teaching demonstration centers. In the past two sessions of provincial teaching achievement awards, 6 first prizes were won, and 2 national second prizes for teaching achievements were approved. The university focuses on developing academic productivity, insists on the coordinated advancement of scientific research and social services, and builds platforms, gathers talents, and cultivates achievements in the fields of digital economy, low-carbon economy, development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and Chu cuisine industry around the strategic layout of the country's new development stage. It has built a provincial and ministerial co-construction collaborative innovation center for carbon emission trading, a key laboratory of digital financial innovation in Hubei Province, 7 provincial humanities and social sciences key research bases, 1 provincial engineering technology research center, and 3 reform think tanks of the provincial party committee and provincial government. In recent years, the school has strengthened the work of attracting talents and wisdom from Taiwan, and has introduced 46 full-time Taiwanese teachers, which has received high attention from the national and provincial Taiwan work agencies and relevant Taiwan parties. The Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council approved our school as a "demonstration point for employment and entrepreneurship of youth across the Taiwan Straits", which is a bright business card for the construction of our talent team. The school actively promotes open education, and has signed cooperation agreements with more than 40 famous universities or educational institutions in more than 20 countries such as the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Australia, Canada, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and carried out substantive exchanges and cooperation such as teacher-student exchanges, scientific research cooperation, joint training and sponsorship of masters, and cooperated with Montgomery Auburn University in the United States to organize undergraduate education programs in information management and information systems, and cooperated with Giovanni Battista Tiepolo Academy of Fine Arts in Italy to organize undergraduate education programs in environmental design. We have deepened the integration of production and education, school-enterprise cooperation, introduced enterprises to the school, built and shared, and carried out in-depth diversified cooperation with the government, industry and enterprises on the "six common" principles. We have jointly built 238 internship and training bases, built one national practical education base and six provincial internship and training bases, and innovated the mechanism of cultivating applied talents through cooperation between schools, governments, enterprises and enterprises.
