Hubei Institute of Technology is a general higher education institution that focuses on engineering and cultivates applied talents. It is located in Huangshi City, Hubei Province, the cradle of modern Chinese national industry. The school covers an area of 1.46 million square meters, with a building area of 638,000 square meters. It is backed by Qinglong Mountain and surrounded by the water of Cihu Lake. It has a beautiful environment and picturesque scenery. It is known as the most beautiful campus. The school was founded in 1975 and opened undergraduate majors in 1977. It has gone through the stages of running schools such as Huangshi Higher Education Class of Hubei Higher Education Institutions, Wuhan Institute of Technology (Huangshi Branch), and Huangshi Higher Vocational School. In 2004, it was upgraded to Huangshi Institute of Technology. In 2010, it was the first batch of undergraduate teaching work qualified evaluations by the Ministry of Education in the country. In 2011, it was renamed Hubei Institute of Technology. In 2016, it was elected as the first rotating chairman unit of the Hubei Higher Education Application Alliance.
