Huanghuai University is a provincial full-time general undergraduate university established in 2004 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The university is located in Zhumadian City, Henan Province, which is known as "the hinterland of Yuzhou and the center of the world". It has a 53-year history of running schools. It is a pilot university for the strategic research on the reform of applied technology universities of the Ministry of Education, a vice-chairman unit of the China University of Applied Technology (College) Alliance, the first batch of demonstration applied technology undergraduate universities in Henan Province, a key project construction unit for the awarding of master's degrees in Henan Province, and the first civilized campus (model) unit in Henan Province. The university covers an area of 2,760 acres and has 18 secondary colleges. It has ten major disciplines including engineering, science, management, economics, literature, art, law, agriculture, education, and medicine. It has 58 undergraduate majors and the first batch of undergraduate students in computer science and technology. There are 13 provincial key disciplines, 3 national first-class professional construction sites, 15 provincial first-class professional construction sites, 3 national first-class courses, 15 national and provincial off-campus practical teaching bases, 8 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 27 scientific research innovation platforms such as provincial key laboratories, engineering technology research centers, international joint laboratories, and key research bases for humanities and social sciences in colleges and universities. There are more than 22,000 full-time students. There are 1,672 faculty members, 618 teachers with senior professional titles, 380 teachers with doctoral degrees, and 532 "double-qualified" teachers. There are more than 200 experts with special allowances from the State Council, excellent experts under provincial management, provincial specially appointed professors, provincial teaching masters, Central Plains Thousand Talents Plan, provincial academic and technical leaders, doctoral supervisors, and master's supervisors. The "Civil Engineering Teacher Team" was selected as the first batch of "National College Huang Danian Teacher Team". The Teacher Development Center was approved as the first batch of Teacher Teaching Development Demonstration Centers in Henan Province. The school adheres to the "local, application-oriented, and open" school-running orientation, deepens the integration of industry, science, education, and school-enterprise cooperation, and builds modern industrial colleges with industry enterprises. The "Waterproof Materials and Engineering Industry College" and the "New Energy and Connected Vehicle Industry College" have been approved as "Provincial Key Modern Industrial Colleges", "Building Waterproof Protection Industry College" and "API Green Preparation Industry College" have been approved as Henan Province's Characteristic Industry Colleges, "Artificial Intelligence Industry College" has been approved as "Henan Province Demonstration School Key Construction Industry College", and "Rural Design College" has been approved as a provincial characteristic design college. 13 "Beautiful Village" demonstration sites have been jointly created. Joint training of master's students has been carried out with Zhengzhou University, Henan University, Xinyang Normal University, Zhongyuan University of Technology and other universities, and nearly 300 master's students have been trained. Since 2005, the school has successively carried out exchanges and cooperation with more than 20 universities at home and abroad. At present, there are 5 Sino-foreign cooperative education projects, more than 1,100 students have gone abroad to study, and more than 90 international students have been enrolled. "Huanghuai-Mysore International Software Engineering College" is included in the "Belt and Road" education action plan of Henan Province. The school was selected as a construction unit of international characteristic universities in Henan Province. Since 2014, it has hosted the Ministry of Education's "International Forum on Industry-Education Integration Development Strategy" for ten consecutive years, and the forum has formed a brand effect. The school continues to promote innovation and entrepreneurship education, and has won the first batch of "Demonstration Universities for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform", the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Typical Experience Universities, the first batch of national mass innovation spaces, and national science and technology enterprise incubators. 10 students were selected as "Top 100 National College Student Entrepreneurship Heroes", and 2 graduates were selected as "Henan College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Model". Henan Higher Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management Service Center settled in our school. In recent years, the school has received high attention and cordial care from superiors. Chen Changzhi, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 11th and 12th National People's Congress and former Chairman of the China Vocational Education Society, Lou Yangsheng, Secretary of the Henan Provincial Party Committee, Sun Yao, Vice Minister of Education, Zhu Zhiwen, former Vice Minister of Education, Lu Xin, former Vice Minister of Education and President of the China Vocational and Technical Education Society, and other leaders visited the school for inspection and guidance, and placed high hopes on the development of the school.
