Sichuan Tourism College is sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and is the first full-time general undergraduate college in China named after "tourism". In 2013, it was approved by the Ministry of Education and was established by the merger of Sichuan Culinary College and Sichuan Agricultural Management Cadre College. The school is one of the 100 "Application-oriented Undergraduate Industry-Education Integration Development Project" construction colleges in the country, a pilot college for the comprehensive reform of "Three-dimensional Education" in Sichuan Province, and a pilot college for the overall transformation and development reform of undergraduate colleges in Sichuan Province. In 2018, the school was approved by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council as the "Overseas Huiqiao Project-Chinese Food Prosperity Plan Base". In September 2021, the school was selected as the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative project protection units. The school adheres to the "local and application-oriented" school-running positioning, shoulders the historical mission of "strengthening tourism and serving the country", and continuously deepens education and teaching reforms, inherits China's excellent tourism culture and China's excellent food culture, and cultivates application-oriented talents adapted to economic and social development. The main campus of the school is located at No. 459, Hongling Road, Longquanyi District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, covering an area of 1,008 acres. The school has concentrated scenic spots such as Emei, Qingcheng, Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong, Minshan, Minjiang, Leshan Giant Buddha, Dujiangyan and other scenic spots into the campus, and has built a national AAA-level tourist attraction-Leisure Food Culture Park, forming a unique pattern of campus in the scenic area and scenic area in the campus, seamless connection between classroom and real scene, and culture and tourism complement each other. The school has leisure sports facilities such as rock climbing stadium, leisure sports comprehensive training hall, Chinese Tang ball practice field, tennis court, badminton court, swimming pool, etc., and has built various laboratories at all levels that can meet the needs of various disciplines and professional teaching and scientific research. It has built a "nine-in-one" pattern of teaching, scientific research, competition, dual innovation, training, sightseeing, leisure, food, and fitness. The school motto of "reading thousands of books and traveling thousands of miles" inspires teachers and students of the Tourism College to integrate knowledge and action and go steady and far; the school spirit of "perseverance, dedication and innovation" guides generations of Tourism College people to strive for progress and forge ahead. The school currently has more than 10,000 full-time students. There are 15 secondary colleges, including the School of Cooking, School of Food, Hilton Hotel Management College, School of Sports and Leisure, School of Tourism and Cultural Industry, School of Economics and Management, School of Information and Engineering, School of Foreign Languages, School of Art, School of Big Health Industry, School of Big Data and Statistics, School of Continuing Education, School of Marxism, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and School of International Education. Among them, the Hilton Hotel Management College is the second college in the world established by our school in cooperation with Hilton Hotel Management Group. The school offers 31 undergraduate majors, including cooking and nutrition education, food science and engineering, exhibition economy and management, hotel management, leisure sports, tourism management, building electrical and intelligent, landscape architecture, business English, and logistics engineering, covering 7 disciplines, including management, engineering, literature, science, education, art, and economics. The school also offers specialty majors such as Chinese and Western cooking and golf. The school has established six provincial and ministerial scientific research platforms, including the Sichuan Cuisine Development Research Center, Sichuan Cuisine Artificial Intelligence Key Laboratory, Cultural and Tourism Integration Development Research Center, Sichuan Province Research Base for Strengthening the Consciousness of the Chinese Nation Community, 2011 Sichuan Cuisine Industrialization and Internationalization Collaborative Innovation Center, and 2011 Sichuan-Tibet Tourism Industry Competitiveness Enhancement Collaborative Innovation Center; 9 prefecture-level scientific research platforms, with obvious competitive advantages in Sichuan cuisine and tourism research. There are two provincial teaching and training platforms, namely the "Key Laboratory of Cooking", the largest catering talent training base in the country, and the Chinese Cuisine Prosperity Base, an excellent "industry-education integration training base" of the Ministry of Education. There are provincial research institutions such as the Key Laboratory of Culinary Science in Sichuan Universities, the Sichuan Cuisine Industrialization Engineering Research Center in Sichuan Universities, the Sichuan-Tibet Smart Tourism Engineering Research Center in Sichuan Universities, the Chinese Food Culture Academy, the European and American Food Culture Research Center, the Industry-University-Research Base of the China Logistics Society, the National Vocational Skills Certification Institute, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Research Institute; there are provincial and municipal social science research platforms such as the Food and Tourism Culture Popularization Base and the Megacity Fine Governance Research Base; there are research institutions jointly built by schools and enterprises such as the Mountain Tourism Research Institute, the Golden Dragon Fish International Cooking Research Institute, the Sichuan Cuisine Specialty Condiment Research Institute, the Liheweidao Sichuan Tourism College and the Sichuan Adjustment Research Institute, the Hot Pot Industry Collaborative Innovation Joint Laboratory, the Potato Deep Processing Research Institute, and the Longquanshan B&B Research Institute; there are scientific research and teaching institutions such as the Food Processing and Testing Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, the Western Tourism Development Research Center, the Rural Leisure Tourism Research and Design Center, the Higher Education Research Institute, and the Red Culture Education College. The school library has 1.17 million paper books, more than 700,000 electronic books, and 20 database resources of various types; it has successively purchased Chinese and foreign full-text databases and electronic lending systems such as CNKI, Wanfang, Weipu, and Xunzhi. The school adheres to the internationalization of education, and has signed cooperation agreements with more than 30 universities in countries (regions) such as the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Australia, Italy, Georgia, etc. It has long-term cooperation with Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Australia, the United States and other countries to carry out overseas internship and employment projects. The school is the initiator and governing unit of the "China-ASEAN Tourism Education Alliance" and participates in ASEAN tourism education cooperation; it joins the EU Erasmus + Higher Education Capacity Enhancement Project Sustainable Tourism Talents and becomes one of the only four project institutions in China. The school has an International Education College, and cooperates with the French EPF Engineering College to hold undergraduate education programs in building electrical and intelligent majors, and open a major in Chinese international education. The school cooperates with Hilton Hotel Management Group to establish the world's second Hilton Hotel Management School to jointly cultivate national and professional high-end hotel management talents. The school continues to deepen school-local and school-enterprise cooperation and adheres to the integration of production and education. It has established good cooperative relations with the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Provincial Forestry and Grassland Bureau and more than 20 prefecture-level cities and prefectures such as Ya'an and Ziyang; it has established stable cooperative relations with nearly 100 enterprises such as the Provincial Tourism Investment and the Provincial Business Investment, as well as related associations, scientific research institutes, and universities, and has carried out a large number of collaborative education and cultural tourism project construction. It has formulated 14 standards for local (industries) and formulated more than 20 industrial development plans and related consulting suggestions for provincial and municipal governments such as tourism, Sichuan cuisine, and outdoor sports.
