Jilin University of Agricultural Science and Technology is a provincial public full-time undergraduate university in Jilin Province. It is located in Jilin City, a river city in northern China known as the capital of rime. The school is a demonstration university for transformation and development in Jilin Province. It is one of the first universities selected for the national "Excellence Plan" and "New Agricultural Science" projects. It is a national demonstration base for cultivating new professional farmers, a national demonstration base for food and nutrition education, a national popular science education base, and a master's degree program in Jilin Province. Its educational history can be traced back to the Jilin Secondary Agricultural School founded in 1907. In October 2003, Beihua University College of Agricultural Technology (Jilin Agricultural School) and Jilin Specialty College merged to form a new Jilin Specialty College. In May 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Jilin Specialty College was upgraded to a full-time undergraduate college and renamed Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology College.
