Baicheng Normal University was founded in 1958 and was formerly known as Baicheng Normal College. In August 2000, the Baicheng Forestry School, which was originally affiliated to the State Forestry Administration, was merged into the school. In March 2002, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Baicheng Normal University. The school covers an area of 637,100 square meters and a building area of 246,000 square meters. There are 922 faculty members, including 325 teachers with senior and deputy senior professional titles, and 683 teachers with doctoral and master's degrees. There are 13,476 full-time students. The school has 19 teaching units and 50 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines including law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, management, and art. It has carried out cooperative education with universities in many countries and regions such as South Korea and Russia, and has carried out talent training cooperation projects with Northeast Normal University, Jilin Normal University, Jilin Agricultural University and other universities. There are 4 provincial disciplines, including 2 provincial characteristic high-level disciplines; 17 provincial scientific research platforms such as "Baicheng Salt-alkali Land Management Engineering Technology Center", "Tongyu New Year Painting Art Research Center", and "Tang Honglu Well Carving Research Center" have been established. The school has carried out friendly cooperation with more than 30 foreign universities such as the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom and the University of Auckland in New Zealand in the fields of teacher-student exchanges, cultural exchanges, cooperative education and international Chinese education. It is a member unit of organizations such as the "Chinese Alliance", "China-Russia Cooperative Education University Alliance", and "China-ASEAN Vocational Education International Cooperation Alliance".
