Hetao University is an application-oriented local undergraduate university in western Inner Mongolia. Located in the northern border of the motherland, at the bend of the Yellow River, the famous Hetao Plain. Historical evolution: The predecessor of Hetao College is Hetao University, which was founded in 1985. It was established with the approval of the People's Government of the Autonomous Region and registered with the Ministry of Education. Mr. Chen Liangbi, a famous economics professor, is the first president. The establishment of the school received the cordial care of the party and state leaders. In 1986, Comrade Ulanhu, then vice president of the country, inscribed the name of the school. In 2001, the original Bayannao Ermeng Education College and Bayannao Ermeng Normal School (formerly Suiyuan Provincial Shaanba Normal School founded by General Fu Zuoyi in 1943) were merged into Hetao University. In 2004, the Bayannao Ermeng Branch of the former Inner Mongolia Radio and Television University, Bayannur League Finance and Trade Staff Secondary Vocational School, Bayannur League Health School, Bayannur League Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Secondary Vocational School, and Inner Mongolia Linhe Water Conservancy School were merged into Hetao University. In 2012, Hetao University was upgraded to a general undergraduate institution with the approval of the Ministry of Education, and was renamed Hetao University. It implements a two-level management system of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Bayannur City, with autonomous region management as the mainstay. Under the circumstances of very difficult financial resources, they invested 1.028 billion yuan to build a new campus (Shuanghe Campus) on the bank of the Yellow River.
