Xinxiang University is located in Xinxiang City, Henan Province. It is a public full-time general undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The school was founded in 1949 and is a school with red revolutionary genes and reform and opening-up genes. In 2007, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college by the merger of the former Xinxiang Normal College, Pingyuan University, and Xinxiang Education College. In 2014, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education. In 2019, it was approved as a Henan Province Master's Degree Project Construction Unit. In 2021, it was approved as a Henan Province Demonstration Applied Technology Undergraduate College, a National Language and Character Promotion Base, and a Master's Degree Project Cultivation Unit. In 2022, it was approved for the special enrollment plan for joint training of master's students. 1. Basic Information The school adheres to the school motto of "open, inclusive, realistic and innovative", establishes the school-running philosophy of "people-oriented, strong virtue, open innovation and harmonious development", promotes the school-running spirit of "hard work and self-improvement", adheres to the path of "open school, cooperative school, staggered school and school according to local conditions", implements the six major strategies of "quality-based school, talent-based school, science and technology-based school, characteristic school, cultural school, open and active school", and explores and builds a high-quality application-oriented talent training model. The campus covers an area of 2,063 acres, with a school building area of nearly 860,000 square meters. The campus is full of flowers and plants, evergreen all year round, birds singing and flowers fragrant, and the scenery is pleasant. People and nature, variations and symphony, is an ideal place for reading and studying. The school has excellent conditions for running schools, with a total value of about 554 million yuan in teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment. The library has a collection of 2.1 million paper books, more than 650,000 electronic books, 1,378 newspapers and periodicals, 22 databases, and an advanced and complete computer network service system. 2. Disciplines and majors The school focuses on "taking the foundation as the foundation", promotes the "four returns", takes the cultivation of applied talents as the center, adapts to economic and social development and student needs, and focuses on the eight core elements of applied talent cultivation to strengthen the construction of undergraduate teaching projects. The school closely connects the key links of the industrial chain and innovation chain, scientifically sets up disciplines and majors, and has 24 secondary colleges, 18 scientific research institutions, 68 undergraduate majors, and 6 junior college majors, covering 9 major disciplines of engineering, science, management, economics, education, literature, art, history, and medicine. There are 23 provincial and school-level key disciplines, 48 provincial and municipal key laboratories and engineering technology research centers, collaborative innovation and entrepreneurship centers, and provincial science and technology innovation teams. Professional construction is highly consistent with the needs of local industries and enterprises. There are more than 26,000 full-time undergraduate and junior college students and more than 17,000 adult education students, and the students come from 22 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country. At present, the school has two national first-class undergraduate majors, pharmaceutical engineering and radio and television editing and directing, and 13 provincial first-class undergraduate majors, including Chinese language and literature, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, chemistry, chemical engineering and technology, computer science and technology, fine arts, music, accounting, English, civil engineering, biotechnology, physics, and psychology. The additive manufacturing engineering major was approved as a major outside the catalog of the Ministry of Education, becoming the first university in the country to offer a 3D printing undergraduate major. The pharmaceutical engineering major has passed the national professional certification, and the chemistry major has passed the second-level certification of the Ministry of Education's normal majors. All 13 normal majors have been approved to be exempted from the examination for the certification of teacher qualifications. "College Chinese" was selected as the first batch of national ideological and political demonstration courses, and the course team won the national ideological and political teaching team.
