Hebei University of Finance is located in Baoding, a national historical and cultural city and the central city of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It is a provincial general college of higher learning in Hebei Province, a priority training base for financial talents in Hebei Province, and a pilot unit for the training of professional master's degree graduates in finance. 1. Historical evolution: The school was founded in 1952 and was originally affiliated with the People's Bank of China. In the initial stage, it went through the development periods of Hebei Branch Bank School, Baoding Bank School, Hebei Finance School, and Hebei Bank School. In 1984, it was upgraded to a junior college and renamed "Baoding Finance College"; in 1992, it was renamed "Baoding Finance College". In 2000, it was placed under the management of the Hebei Provincial People's Government and implemented a management system of "co-construction by the central and local governments, with local management as the main focus". In 2007, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed "Hebei University of Finance". 2. School philosophy: Adhering to the school motto of "Virtue, Keeping Faith, Seeking Truth and Pursuing Action", carrying forward the school spirit of "Studying Hard, Innovating and Being Realistic", implementing the school philosophy of "focusing on the development of teachers and students and building a community of growth for teachers and students", abiding by the work requirements of "rigorous norms, keeping integrity and innovation", establishing the "ideological and political + professional + technology" new financial talent training strategy, aiming to cultivate high-quality compound and application-oriented talents with noble morals, patriotism, scientific thinking, craftsmanship, international vision and good development potential to adapt to the needs of China's economic and social development and industry needs, and committed to building a high-level application-oriented financial university in the new era. 3. School conditions: The school covers an area of more than 1,000 acres, with a school building area of more than 275,000 square meters. It has modern teaching buildings, training buildings, libraries, museums, cultural and sports activity centers, etc. It has complete teaching and living facilities and a beautiful campus environment. It is a "Hebei Provincial Garden-style Unit". The library currently has 1.418 million paper books, 440,000 electronic books, 852 paper journals, and more than 20,000 electronic journals. The Financial Museum has more than 5,500 collections and is a popularization base for social sciences in Hebei Province. 4. Departments: The school has 11 colleges, including the School of Finance and Investment, the School of Accounting, the School of Insurance and Finance, the School of Management, the School of Economics and Trade, the School of Information Engineering and Computer Science, the School of International Business and Foreign Languages, the School of Law, the School of International Education, the School of Financial Technology, and the School of Big Data Science. It has 4 public teaching departments, including the School of Marxism, the Department of Foreign Language Education and Teaching, the Department of Humanities and Arts Education and Teaching, and the Department of Physical Education and Teaching. It has a graduate department and a continuing education college. 5. Disciplines and majors: There are 1 professional master's training program and 40 undergraduate majors. There are 4 provincial key (development) disciplines; 3 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 8 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites; 1 national brand specialty major, 4 provincial brand specialty majors; 1 national comprehensive reform pilot, 3 provincial comprehensive reform pilots; 2 provincial undergraduate education innovation highlands, forming a new financial application discipline and major system with economics and management as the main body, and literature, law, science, and engineering as the support. 6. Teaching work: Accurately grasp the direction of industry development, deeply implement the new financial talent training strategy of "ideological and political education + professional + technology", organically unify ideological and political education, professional foundation building, and technological assistance, and cultivate applied financial talents that adapt to and embrace the future. There are 7 provincial "excellent teaching teams" including finance teaching team, accounting teaching team, information management and information system teaching team, financial management teaching team, economic statistics teaching team, insurance teaching team, and economics teaching team; the school has been approved for 2 national first-class undergraduate courses, 4 provincial ideological and political demonstration courses, 4 provincial first-class courses, and 5 provincial boutique online open courses. In the past five years, it has won 10 provincial excellent teaching achievement awards. The school was approved as the first batch of "labor education pilot schools" in Hebei Province, and the curriculum ideological and political teaching research center was approved as the provincial "curriculum ideological and political teaching research demonstration center". The school has built 1 national off-campus practical teaching base, 3 provincial off-campus practical teaching bases, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 6 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 43 professional laboratories. 7. Integration of industry and education: The school is rooted in the industry, adhering to the concept of "school-enterprise cooperation community", and initiated the establishment of the Financial Technology Professional Committee of the China Society of Technology and Economics; signed more than 150 strategic cooperation agreements with large banks, insurance, securities and other financial institutions and enterprises, forming a series of high-level talent training platforms; and co-built provincial financial technology modern industry colleges and 4 school-level modern industry colleges with financial institutions and technology companies. The school aims at the forefront of the development and application of financial technology, established a blockchain application research center, and held a blockchain application development summit forum; and jointly developed the Baoding Blockchain Comprehensive Financial Service Platform with the Baoding Development and Reform Commission and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. Since 2020, the school has jointly compiled a series of books such as "Blockchain: From Core Technology to Financial Application" and "Blockchain Promotes Modernization of Government Governance" with the National University Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Innovation Alliance, the Asian Blockchain Industry Research Institute, Tsinghua University, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, JD Group, Huawei Group and other units, providing theoretical support for the application and development of financial technology. In addition, the school has also participated in the compilation of national standards for blockchain application talents by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the compilation of the three-year action plan for blockchain in Hebei Province and Baoding City, which has effectively promoted the transformation and application of financial technology achievements. 8. Research and Service: The school has built 10 provincial and ministerial research platforms, including the Key Laboratory of Science and Technology Finance, the only key laboratory in the social science category of Hebei Province, 1 provincial "new cultivation think tank" and 6 municipal research platforms, forming the leading group of economic and management research platforms in the province. In the past five years, it has won 15 scientific research awards at the provincial and ministerial levels or above; undertaken the "13th Five-Year Plan" and "14th Five-Year Plan" financial development planning tasks for Hebei Province, Baoding City and other prefecture-level cities, and the third-party evaluation of the exit of poor counties and poverty alleviation and development in Hebei Province; founded the "Financial Advisory", established the "Financial Poverty Alleviation Research Base" in Fuping County, Baoding City, and cooperated with municipal and county governments to build 10 "Financial Service Stations". Since 2015, more than 100 research results have been affirmed by the main leaders of the province and city, and some results have been submitted to the central leaders for reference, providing important support for the government's financial decision-making. The school has co-built training bases with seven companies, including the Hebei Rural Credit Cooperatives Union, China Life Insurance Company Hebei Branch, Jizhong Energy Group Co., Ltd., China People's Property Insurance Company Hebei Branch, Baoding Bank, and China Postal Savings Bank Baoding Branch, playing an important role in serving the industry and the country's major strategies. The school has established the Xiong'an New Area Construction and Development Research Center, co-built the Xiong'an Research Center with the Xiong'an People's Government, and jointly built the East Lake Cloud, Financial Valley, Craftsman Valley, iFlytek, Kandi, and Beijing-Xiong'an Express series of sub-bases with well-known companies. It has held high-level academic conferences such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development Forum and the Xiong'an Forum; selected outstanding experts to participate in the Xiong'an New Area Construction Decision-making Advisory Committee, and participated in the "Xiongan New Area Innovation Simulation and Deduction Work Camp" and "Xiongan New Area Real Estate Policy Innovation Work Camp"; entrusted by the Xiong'an New Area Management Committee to undertake the "Xiongan New Area Real Estate Investment and Financing Innovation" project research; established the China-Norway Green Finance International Research Center, which has played an important role in serving the construction of Xiong'an New Area. 9. Faculty: The school currently has more than 1,000 faculty members, including 66 on-campus master's degree supervisors, 40% of the full-time teachers are doctors or doctoral students, and 37% of the teachers have more than three months of overseas training experience.
