Guangxi Vocational Teachers College (formerly Guangxi Economic Management Cadre College) is located on the banks of the scenic Yongjiang River and Acacia Lake in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi. It is a public full-time general undergraduate school directly under the People's Government of the Autonomous Region and under the jurisdiction of the Autonomous Region Education Department. It is committed to cultivating high-quality application-oriented, technical and skilled talents and vocational education teachers needed for regional economic and social development. The school was born with the liberation of Guangxi. Its predecessor was the Guangxi Provincial Administrative Cadre Training Class established in May 1951. Later, in order to adapt to the needs of Guangxi's economic construction in different historical periods, the school has undergone historical evolutions such as Guangxi People's Revolutionary University, Guangxi Administrative Cadre School, Guangxi Economic Cadre School, and Guangxi Economic Management Cadre College. In June 2019, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be established as "Guangxi Vocational Teachers College". In different historical periods, the school focused on the development theme of "serving Guangxi's economic construction", did not forget the original intention of the school, and bravely undertook the mission of running a school. It has made indelible and outstanding contributions to Guangxi's economic construction and social development, and enjoys a good reputation for running schools and a wide range of social influence. In recent years, the school has focused on the "local, application-oriented, vocational teacher" school-running positioning, implemented the "based, application-oriented, vocational teacher characteristics" school-running ideas, and achieved remarkable results in serving the transformation and upgrading of local industries and improving the quality and efficiency of vocational education. The school currently has 662 faculty and staff, including 208 senior titles (47 senior titles), 420 master's and doctoral degrees (including 21 doctors), and 122 outstanding professional and technical talents, management talents and high-skilled talents from industry enterprises are employed as part-time teachers. It has 1 autonomous region-level collaborative education platform, 2 high-level innovation teams of Guangxi higher education institutions, and 1 key laboratory of Guangxi universities. In the selection of teaching achievements in recent years, it won 1 second prize of national teaching achievements and 9 autonomous region-level teaching achievement awards (including 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 4 third prizes). In the past five years, the university has obtained 247 vertical scientific research projects at the department level and above, including 1 national project, 37 provincial and ministerial projects, and 210 departmental projects; it has won 6 provincial and ministerial scientific research achievement awards, including 1 second prize and 5 third prizes. The school currently has 12 secondary colleges (departments), 27 general undergraduate majors, 47 higher vocational majors, 7 adult undergraduate majors, and 9 junior college majors, distributed in multiple disciplines such as economics, management, science, engineering, literature, and art. It has won 1 "New Engineering" research and practice project from the Ministry of Education, 3 Guangxi Higher Education Institutions Characteristic Majors and Curriculum Integration Construction Projects, 2 autonomous region-level virtual teaching and research room construction pilots, 4 autonomous region-level undergraduate first-class courses, and 5 autonomous region-level ideological and political demonstration courses. There are more than 100 internship and training bases inside and outside the school, such as the New Engineering Collaborative Education Center, and vocational education internship bases have been jointly built with many Guangxi secondary vocational schools. In recent years, the university has taken strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship education as a starting point to comprehensively promote the integration of structural elements on the supply side of talent training and the demand side of industrial development. The quality of applied talent training has been widely recognized, and it has been rated as an outstanding unit for employment and entrepreneurship of graduates from ordinary colleges and universities in Guangxi. The school has won bids for 6 major projects in Guangxi, and has undertaken research on a number of advisory projects of the Party Committee and the government of the autonomous region, such as "Research on the key directions and paths for promoting high-quality economic development in Guangxi", as well as special projects of the autonomous region's Department of Industry and Information Technology, Development and Reform Commission, and Finance Department. It has completed the construction of the "Guangxi New Energy Vehicle Monitoring Platform", a project of the integration of industrialization and information technology in the autonomous region, highlighting the characteristics and advantages of serving Guangxi. It has co-built a number of school-enterprise in-depth cooperation projects such as the "Guangxi Ship Network Engineering Technology Research Center" with Guangxi Xijiang Development and Investment Group, actively promoted the integration of production and education, and the transformation of scientific and technological innovation results, and vigorously carried out technical services and consulting services for small and medium-sized enterprises. The school is also a college base for cadre education and training in Guangxi, a training base for vocational education teachers in Guangxi, a practice and training base for comprehensive law enforcement of ecological environment in Guangxi, and a training base for enterprise management personnel, and has trained a large number of high-quality party and government cadres, "dual-qualified" vocational teachers, and enterprise management talents.
