Shanxi Institute of Science and Technology is located in Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, which is known as the "Gateway to Shanxi Province and the First Charge of Taihang Mountains". It is a provincial general undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Shanxi Province in August 2021. It is an applied science and engineering university jointly supported by Shanxi Province and Jincheng City.
