Jilin Technology and Business College is a public general college under the jurisdiction of Jilin Province. It is located in Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province, which is known as the Spring City of the North. The school was founded in 1958. In 2007, it was approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and was established by merging Jilin Finance and Taxation College, Jilin Commercial College and Jilin Grain College. In December 2013, the school successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education. In December 2015, the school was approved as the first batch of overall transformation pilot universities in Jilin Province. In 2012, with the approval of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the school moved to the shore of Karen Lake in Jiutai Economic Development Zone, Changchun to build a new campus. In 2014, the school moved to the new campus of Karen Lake. The new campus covers an area of 984,000 square meters, with a green area of 384,000 square meters and a building area of 32.More than 60,000 square meters. The school's enrollment covers 31 provinces across the country, with 15,772 full-time undergraduate and junior college students, 952 faculty and staff, 394 faculty and staff with senior professional titles, and 706 faculty and staff with master's and doctoral degrees. It currently has 45 undergraduate majors and 14 junior college majors, covering 7 disciplines of economics, management, engineering, science, literature, art, and agriculture. The school has three Jilin Province higher education research bases, including the "Jilin Province Higher Finance and Economics Education Research Base", two provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, including the "Grain, Oil and Food Engineering Experimental Teaching Center", one provincial off-campus practical education base, one provincial teaching base "Jilin Province Grain Engineering Dual Teacher Training Base", one provincial college student entrepreneurship park, one provincial dual innovation demonstration base, one provincial college student entrepreneurship and innovation training base, one provincial first batch of undergraduate college farming and reading education off-campus practice base, and one Changchun City Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Base. The "Thoughts and Suggestions on Solidly Promoting the Green Environmental Protection Demonstration of the Hunchun Marine Economic Development Demonstration Zone in Jilin" proposed by the school was approved by Jiang Zelin, then Chairman of the Jilin Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, which has important reference value for the construction of the Hunchun Marine Economic Development Demonstration Zone. The school was included in the teaching area of the Joint Training Institute for Rural Revitalization Talents by the China Poverty Alleviation and Development Association. The school promotes the construction of a modern grain industry college and takes the initiative to undertake the "Jilin rice brand construction". The "Suggestions on the Construction of a Food Security System in Jilin Province", "Countermeasures and Suggestions for the Construction of a Modern Grain Industry College", and "Countermeasures and Suggestions for Implementing the 5T Management Standards for High-quality Rice Storage Operations to Promote the Upgrading of the 'Jilin Rice' Brand in Our Province" submitted by the school were approved by Vice Governor Han Fuchun. The school was approved as the vice chairman unit of the Sixth Council of the Provincial Grain Industry Association. The school was elected as the vice chairman unit of the Council of the Provincial Market Supervision and Administration Society. The TOP30 Summit on Pre-prepared Food and Rural Revitalization High-quality Development and the Establishment Conference of the Pre-prepared Food Professional Committee of the Jilin Food Culture Research Association hosted by the school were successfully concluded. The school helps "turn straw into meat" and promotes economic research on the beef cattle industry. Hosting the "2021 China Jilin Beef Industry High-Quality Development Summit", the "Suggestions on the Establishment of a Modern Beef Industry College" and the "Suggestions on Strengthening Local Terminal Consumption to Drive the Development of the Beef Industry" received important instructions from Governor Han Jun and were adopted and applied. "Suggestions on Building a Modern Beef Industry College to Promote the Development of Jilin Province's Beef Industry" won the first prize in the research report category of the 14th Jilin Province Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award.
